Got some new essentials for the house, actual utensils so we all finally have forks again and new glass cups that have a fun texture. The weight of the utensils are perfect and smooth. The cups are slightly shorter than I'd like but manageable. We were living with two glass cups and two forks...and there's more than 2 of us. Also got us a trash can that actually fits the trash bag size we get. Ended up chatting with my sister's bf and he also expressed he'd like the house to feel more homey. The environment looks and feels cold. I saw these pretty & realistic hydrangeas but I'd prefer an alternative color so I'll look elsewhere and see if I can find something I like. I think flowers and artwork would be a really good place to start. He was saying I should hang up my photos. But I think I'd have to arrange to take the sort of photos I'd want to hang up. Like the beach at sunset, flowers, etc.

When chatting with the therapist, I told them that everyone has had the same reaction to me being an EMT, expressing that I'm an anxious person & that it's far too traumatic an environment to be in. Therapist knows that I'm pursuing this and echoed what my other therapist said, what everyone I tell has said. He told me today that there are plenty of EMTs that are very anxious people when it comes to everyday life stuff but they make great EMTs because it helps them use their anxiety for good. I'm hopeful that that's what I'm capable of and until yesterday and with the exception of one other person, I've been the only one telling myself that. I also believe that while yes I will be at a higher likelihood of seeing scary things, that most the calls won't necessarily be scary and also hopefully all I ever end up doing is driving. I won't know until I'm there... but I'm hopeful for the best outcome. I've been feeling a lot like this is life or death, failing the class v. Passing...being an EMT vs. ...some other job. It's put me at an uncomfortable and chafing crossroad. If it's not this that can sustain me- what can? It's a perfect blend of doing something different everyday and working hands on with reliable income and a sense of community. Do I suck it up and try to work in a kitchen? It'd be grueling and I'd have to grow thicker skin, I'd have awful hours. If I were to do something artsy like within the world of photography, there's jobs where I could work part time like in a mall but I believe it would not only not provide enough income but that it would successfully put dirt on the grave of my passion for photography. If I work for another creator, then I am giving up my time I could and WOULD be out taking pictures of things I want to take photos of and growing. I've done good work before at an office job and liked it a lot but after about 6 months being at your desk staring at forms just makes me fall asleep. Even though I was good at it and liked it.

I meant to highlight more that I was on the receiving end of uplifting encouragement. And also to express how happy it made me overall, to feel encouraged. And that it feels really incredible to have some say in actually providing additional comfort for yourself with basic necessities. It feels good to have 1 less thing to worry about or be annoyed at. Finding solutions to making my life easier and actually executing them, is fun and makes me happy. Especially when it's low stakes like how to make my home function better for me.
