Today’s post is brought to you by ... *drum roll please* ... a quarantine haircut!

I was a bit nervous, but took some inspiration from @mariana-runs and her cute quarantine cut and said what the hell. My hair was far too long and unruly. I found a video on how to easily do a long bob cut at home, and with help from B, I think we did a decent job. We ended up taking about 6” off. It feels so much lighter and fresher and that was the goal. Check how short it is in the pony, too. Love!

I’ve also been rocking this ridiculous sweatshirt lately (channeling my best Ew, David! energy) and it’s been helpful for my mental state to wear something other than a robe. Granted, I’m only wearing a sweatshirt and yoga pants, but hey. It’s helping.

Since I started pumping more and feeding Pep bottled breast milk my sanity has made a pretty decent comeback. It’s helping me to find more balance and shorter feeding sessions mean a little more sleep for everyone, which is a really valuable thing right now. Otherwise we’ve been keeping on, still getting to know one another and learning every day about Pep’s new sounds and cries and what he’s trying to tell us. He started doing this thing where he smiles really big when he’s falling asleep, and my god if it isn’t the cutest thing I’ve ever seen.

Today marks Pep’s 3 week birthday-versary! Hard to believe, in a way, and it’s just now that I’m mentally settling into the new reality of being a mom. I’m starting to feel like me again, but the version of me that has a son. For a while there I just felt like a robot, but gradually I’m finding myself again. Feels good.

I’ve finally discovered the type of woman I am and want to grow to be. Professional, poised business woman who wears fitted business pants suits and mid length conservative dresses. They won’t overexentuate her pear figure, but it definitely won’t hide it either. A la Elle Woods in terms of business style. All of the raw sexiness is in her eyes, in her confidence, in the way she verbally expresses that she is quite possibly the most intelligent person in the room- without actually having to say so. Sweet and friendly, but not overly bubbly. Nowhere near cute. Cute is for kids and puppies. She is sexy, smoldering, irresistible. A grown ass woman. A woman that doesn’t reveal too much of herself outside of her professional accomplishments, she is a beautiful mystery. Hard-working, disciplined, accomplished and focused. Outside of her carefully controlled and calculated professional endeavors, she is fun and carefree. She dresses provocatively, if she has anything on at all, the exact opposite of the business woman. She is comfortable in her body and sensuality and while there are things she prefers to control, she is renewed by the things in her life that she can be care free about. She is ultra girly, ultra feminine and glam with a twist. Her home is a princess’ palace where you’ll find everything pink, sequined, furry and in its rightful place as she is still a Virgo. She still has her own eccentric interests that don’t match her aesthetic and it fuels her. She knows that she is unique, her own person and she is so proud of and comfortable with herself. She enjoys dancing around the pole in her “woman cave” while blasting everything from Summer Walker to Staind, getting lost in a romance novel, writing the random lines of poetry that form in her brain, watching anime and documentaries about the formation of our Universe and performing spells for the ancestors that have guided her and kept her safe. She is elegant, eccentric and eclectic. Sometimes spontanenous and unpredictable. But always warm and genuine, always leaving quite an impression every where she goes.
