Bear with me, this will be a long one (strange as the m&g itself seemed to be so short?!) There were twelve people at the m&g. While waiting for the band, one of them asked the woman who was in charge how long the m&g would take. She said it depended on the people, it was longer the more they had to say to the band. Erm, no, sorry, if I had had the chance to say/ask all I wanted to, we’d probably still be there... When the boys came in (no Johnny McDaid), they first walked round, shaking everybody’s hands and introducing themselves. Though Biloxi is the proof that this is necessary, I couldn’t help but find it funny/sweet. I don’t exactly remember the order of events, but here we go: When Jonny shook my hand, I congratulated him on becoming a daddy. Later, when he signed for me, I asked him if his wife was well (yes, she is), and if this was the reason for them to take a break after the V-Festival (my very subtle way of trying to find out when the baby is due). But Jonny was like „there will be no break“. And I said „Oh, I thought there was nothing till the US tour in October“. „We’ll go to Australia before.“ Great news, but when I told him how happy some fans would be to hear this, he specified that it would „only“ be Gary, Nathan and Johnny doing acoustic sessions. For Gary’s birthday, I had sent him a pack of Haribo frog candies (any relation to my username being a sheer coincidence, of course). I said to Gary I didn’t think he’d unwrapped his presents yet („Oh no, not yet, I will do this when back home“ – yeah, right, just like last time * rolls eyes *) This time, I had bought a large box of the same candies and told him it was for the whole band. Then I handed over the questions I had collected and said the next time he felt like answering things via twitter, he wouldn’t need to go looking for questions, they were all there, but he could of course give a share to Pablo and Johnny as well. Me taking so long to explain everything, he didn’t have the time to say anything else but „thank you“ – silly me! I had brought one of the oh-signs I had made for RAF for the boys to sign and when it was Tom’s turn, I asked him if they didn’t get bored being requested the reworked version of CC again and again. He answered: „Oh, but now you’ve given it away.“ „No“, I said, „it’s not for today“ – knowing of course that other oh-signs had already been prepared ;) I didn’t really get to chat to Nathan, but I finally had the chance to get the autograph completed that Truusje had sent me from the SBE gig and that was missing Nathan’s signature. When Tom wanted to sign too, I had to tell him he had already done it. LOL At a certain moment, I noticed that Pablo was standing around without anything to do so I approached him and started a conversation about twitter. Based on his latest toy-Yoda tweet, I asked him where he always finds stuff like that and he told me people would send it to him. I then questioned him about his background picture on twitter because I really like it. He was like „Is that the one with the colored windows?“ „Yes.“ „Uhm, erm – actually, I don’t know...“ Okay, this was probably the most random conversation ever, but he was smiling all the time – and he has a very nice smile btw. When it came to taking photos, the lady from Universal (I think) said she’d take them with our cameras and we were asked to join the band two by two. The band formed a row and the first ones to be photographed with them (a 15-year-old girl and her daddy if I remember right) politely put themselves in front of the band. Then it was Tonny’s and my turn and I didn’t care about being polite and just squeezed myself in between Gary and Jonny. That set an example, of course. In the end, when they were just about to leave the room, Gary was like „oh, my presents!“ (Tonny had bought them a box of chocolates and Gary seemingly had forgotten already that it weren’t HIS presents but THEIRS). I quickly fetched him mine and he said „Thank you very much indeed.“ :D Then the boys waved good-bye and left the room. Four of the people who were at the m&g had asked if they could also see The Parlotones (one even went as far as saying „that is what I really came here for“ o_o) and when they were brought there, some of the others also lingered and we then were told we all could meet The Parlotones if we wanted to. That was a generous offer, but Tonny and me decided it was more important to try to work our way back to our friends in front of the stage to have a good spot for the gig later. Also, I would have felt very weird to REALLY have a m&g with a band whose members would have to tell me their names LOL We were lucky enough to really make our way back to the front without any problems. A huge thank you to Sanne and Nicky and the others girls who kept our spot for us! We were second row, almost centre. The gig was epic in every way – I will try to write a report about it later. Oh, and just in case anybody should still have any doubts about it: I’VE HAD THE TIME OF MY LIFE!
