May 1816
Fortunately, I woke up at the right time. Since I was sleeping at the upper bed, nobody knew I was already awake and trying to blog. Ante and Tita Gina were talking about stuff then Tito Manny arrived. He brought breakfast for everyone but Jourdan didn't like the pandesal. He gave Jourdan some car toys and then he had to go for work. I was forced to go down to have breaky too. But before I did that, Jourdan went up to my bed and struggled to do so and even when he went down but he was so cute. Anyway, I had some breakfast and we all took turns in taking a shower. I also seldomly looked out of the window because the view was so great even in the morning. When Ante was taking a shower, the four of us went down to the swimming pool of the building and took pictures there. Also, Jourdan put his feet on the kiddie pool and definitely loved it. We went back to the room and prepared to go. We first went to have a full breakfast at Jollibee where Jourdan had a drinking crisis. Then we went to Tita Gina's house. We stayed there for a while, fed Jourdan some fruits and yogurt drink. We also took pictures and then not long after, prepared to go again. Before we went home, Tita Gina took Nuvali's way to show Ante the place. Nuvali was basically highly developed now. There were a lot of subdivisions and we even went to two of those. We first went to the house of their other friend which looked gorgeously minimal. Then we went to the subdivision where Tita Gina's new house was being built. After that, we already went home. And since Shayna was left at home, during the whole ride after Tita Gina's house, Jourdan played hiding coins with me which was fun. However, I could throw up anytime during the ride but I'm good, I'm good. Also, Jourdan got tired of playing and he also got sad that he was already going home so he got silent when we were almost home. Then just before we got to our house, we got stuck for a while and a guy even made a rude comment about Tita Gina and blurted out that we should be fucking grateful he was helping us. Anyway, Tita Gina was good at the come back and she said goodbye to Jourdan when we got home so she just literally dropped us off. She's just really an awesome lady. At home, we were all full so we ended up staying inside the room. I also enjoyed trying out Snapchat filters with Jourdan which he absolutely loved as well. I also had time to take a nap because I was so tired and then I woke up and played some car race on Papa's phone which was fun. We waited and waited for Ninang Marie to pick Ante up but it was already getting dark outside and it even rained so hard. Ante started packing as well and Jourdan was whining about not playing too much in a while so I let him every now and then. But he already had to go to sleep because we all had to wake up so early tomorrow. Good thing he was able to fall asleep immediately. But then around 7, I think, Ninang Marie called up and said they were near so Ante Elok waited for them outside. I finally remembered her face. Anyway, they all had a chat in the living room and tried to wake up Jourdan. Ninang brought a kid which isn't hers, of course, but kinda is. It's complicated shit. Ninang and her husband badly wanted to see Jourdan so Mom tried to wake him up and good thing he got up and went out of the room for them to see. He was shy so he just came up to me to play with Papa's phone again. After their chat, Ante figured she wanted to see Ninang's house and since they've got a car, they went off with Jourdan. Me and my parents had dinner while they were away. Then we all went to the room to take a rest. Abruptly, I felt really sleepy but we still had to wait for them to come back. When they did, it was already late so Jourdan slept immediately. I fell asleep before I could even start writing this.

UUs Remember Rekia
The Black organizing collective behind the #ByeAnita campaign who successfully organized to unseat corrupt, anti-Black State's Attorney Anita Alvarez have furthered their efforts against anti-Blackness in our city by pushing for the firing of police officer Dante Servin without a pension for the murder or 22-year-old Rekia Boyd and by calling for the immediate funding of Chicago State University, a predominately Black university under the threat of closure due to the Illinois State budget impasse. Campaign organizers have called on all Chicagoans who are outraged by these developments to organize in their sphere of influence.
To do our part, UUs of the Chicagoland area will hold a Teach-in and Vigil on Wednesday, May 18th from 6:30- 8:30 p.m. at Second Unitarian Church of Chicago to educate ourselves about the ways in which these injustices violate our values as UUs and how we can continue our racial justice work in this city. The vigil will provide us an opportunity to honor Rekia’s life through song, chants, and art.
As UUs, we believe in the inherent worth and dignity of every person. If you are moved to be present in solidarity, please join us.
This will be an intergenerational and family friendly space.
Organized by members of the Chicago Chalice Connection
