Battle Action No. 200, dated 6 January 1979 with a cover by Mike Western and others. It featured the first episode of Charley's War, written by Pat Mills and with art by Joe Colquhoun.

John Cooper took over on art chores on the Tom Tully scripted Johnny Red. He went on to be the strip's longest serving artist.

H.M.S. Nightshade, another new strip, began. Written by John Wagner and with art by Mike Western. For some reason I skipped this story each week and I've still never read it.

i feel blue. i can't fall asleep, i keep thinking of the person i want to be...well what i want to look like i guess. im also thinking about productive things i could be doing, but that scares me, and i think it's because i don't want to start something that i may not be able to finish. it dwells on me. i wonder, when will i be the person i long for?
