Satisfaction.

The word echoes in his mind like a reverberation in his skull, a ringing gradually chewing through soft, calm cloud. Leather creaks as he curls his fingers into his palm. He hears the sounds of a raucous crowd beyond the stone walls surrounding him, volume and intensity rising in bursts and nearly always thundering. The railing beneath his hand shivers in sync.

Amusement.

With a violent sweep of his arm, he sends flying the cracked fragments of his gloves. Grey flakes cut through the the dust, illuminated by sunlight penetrating the roof, larger pieces careening against the wall on the opposite side of the narrow structure. But the Xaela is a pillar silhouetted in the dark. His breaths come easily as he slowly raises his head and observes the opening of his fist.

Pride.

He closes it. What do they know? Soon enough, he will have his turn.

As his eyes shift to the sky barely visible between the tiles, he begins to walk.
