Saturday was such a lovely day! B had to take care of some errands and whatnot during the morning, so I got out early with pep and we had a nice 45-minute (power-ish)walk along the riverfront. Everyone we passed said hello and pep, as usual, was the star of the show.
After that, we popped into Old Navy and Kohl’s at the suggestion of @nycnomad to find some t-shirts for myself that actually fit. It was a great success. I grabbed 3 shirts at Old Navy, and while I was waiting in line to check out, I had the nicest conversation with the woman behind me about how beautiful pep is (her words, not mine 😁). Is it just me, or does kindness from strangers go a long way for you too? I think especially after being isolated for so long, it’s just so nice, so refreshing. Perhaps that’s my social atrophy peeking through.
The last stop was to pick up our grocery order, for which the timing worked out perfectly. We headed home, put the groceries all away, and got pep fed and down for a nap. The rest of the day was spent relaxing at home and making a ginormous batch of baby food. I used 7 gala apples and 2 sweet potatoes for one batch, and made 2 heads of cauliflower separately. Gotta re-stock the freezer!
For dinner, we ordered from a new (to us) restaurant, because of course we would order in after just doing a huge grocery haul that same day. I got my very favorite Peruvian dish, lomo saltado, and woooo boy it did not disappoint! So effing tasty. The scale was not my friend waking up this morning after that big meal, but whatevs. I’m sure it’s water weight.
Today is Sunday and B, pep and I are going out to a local farm to go pear picking. More to come on that later today. Enjoy your beautiful Sunday, friends!
