This very tiny hardcover is a charming little pictorial anthology of ghost personalities that aims, with jovial humor, to de-spookify the incorporeal undead. These “spectral portraits” paint a delightful image of the humanity in every earthbound spirit, and many made me giggle and titter. I highly recommend flipping through the pages of this book any time you come face-to-face with an apparition or need a little supernatural cheer, as some illustrations are cleverly complicated and others amusingly simple. I thoroughly enjoyed this small collection of fun spooks and specters, but I offer a word of caution to any readers who are gravely serious about the afterlife – this treasury is definitely not for you. (However, I do encourage you to put your own convictions aside and consider giving your self-proclaimed heathen, Halloween-loving, paranormal-junkie relative or friend his/her very own copy – s/he’ll be eternally grateful.)
