1 - O bere o affogare - Either drink or drown Similar in use to the english phrase either sink or swim. You might use this phrase to encourage someone who is struggling with a task: per esempio
persona 1: non penso è possibile studiare di più per l’esame di domani persona 2: no, devi farlo, o bere o affogare
2 - essere in un bel pasticcio - To be in a nice pie Similar in english to being in a bit of a pickle. Used when someone finds themselves in a tricky situation. per esempio
