he's standing like his mother ( if he ever had one ) caught him with his hand in the cookie jar. leo reasons that sam never explicitly told him that dogs weren't allowed, so maybe he can use that as a scape goat.

and well, the dog wasn't in the kitchen. just in the storage room. leo looks at the dog, then back at sam.

"I'm Not In Love" - 10CCs (The story behind the making of...)

This is kind of a one-off song, really good, but hard to categorize. They spent weeks recording their voices humming the notes of the scale, then used those notes together to make chords. Never been done before or since I believe.

Bonus points if you know the derivation of the band's name. I'll put the answer in the comments.

"ohhh my god you are so dramatic." juliet is rolling her eyes into next week as she stocks the liquor behind the bar. she figures sam must be in one of his moods.

anything could cause it, so she's given up on trying to figure them out.

"i literally said you're being a pissy whiney baby, but i don't hate you. i mean, you do sign my checks. you need to work on your self esteem."

leo nods, already brewing a pot of coffee behind him. this one is for the employees, so it's dirty and dingy and probably has mold in it somewhere. it builds character, leo had said to juliet once. she wasn't a fan of that.

"i could do both." at his feet, porkchop thumps his tail. "but i don't think you'd like one of them. no offence, sam. you look like a gentle wind could knock you over."

Julie takes a very gentle perch on a bar stool.

Sam's place is pretty nice. Is it like, weird, or something, that now she knows two people who run bars? But she doesn't know this bar as well as she knows Marcus', and the unfamiliar environment has her feeling out of place.

She considers the bottles behind the counter. "Do you. Um. Have. Anything — not alcoholic but also. Tasty."

@10ccs // Music stores used to be one of Julie's favourite things. Now she walks in it like she doesn't quite belong, like it hurts to look at the rows and rows of flute music as if she's betrayed it in some shape or form. And she kind of has — currently, she feels like there's no way to play music if she isn't being serious about it, and the idea of playing seriously about it feels like a knife to her gut and her heart and her brain and — it just kind of fucking sucks to think about music right now!

But she still likes them. And she likes visiting with Sam, because Sam doesn't go into the classical section. He is staring at a guitar in the acoustics section. Julie glances at him. And at it. And at him. And at it. And at him. And at it.

It's only, like. Three thousand dollars.

Tone innocently suggestive: "You should get that."
