Anyway, second episode of Sanda has graced the world. And it's an interesting one, gives a bit more indication of the direction the series will go in future. Evidently Paru wasn't content at just a world where Christmas doesn't exist anymore, because a lot of the runtime of this episode is spent on her usual interesting worldbuilding bits, in this case we've got a Japan in which children make up such a small part of the population as to have been idolised by the adults and made to almost be a symbol of worship and purity. IRL Japan's declining birthrate to the logical extreme. Best outcome of all that for this episode is the new Headmaster character, a 92 year old who just spouts shit about how much plastic surgery he's had to look young, and that doing so has like paralysed his facial expression and left his face unable to bleed or feel pain - it's awesome and reminiscent of the type of character and worldbuilding details Paru does in Beastars as well. Not an episode that's as balls to the wall crazy as the first one and in that sense less exciting because of it, but certainly isn't any less interesting and I'm still set on this as the non-sequel anime of the season. Oh although admittedly I'm not really sold on Amaya yet, will need to see what he adds to the dynamic longer term.
