You must Relinquish your Hold On me. I understand That by now, Your fingers have Become accustomed To the weight And feel of the Rope You have so Cleverly Bound me with, But you must Make it so that I am no longer Suspended Above solid Ground. For it is not I that You have captured, But rather my Shadow. Where I go, She follows. Where she exists, So too am I. But you have Her In your possession And neither she nor I can leave the Other behind. We cannot move. We are bound by This Rope. Or rather she is bound by rope And I, by an Invisible hand that Refuses To let me be. She and I are Tied together by Some metaphysical Force. Something that Cannot be seen, but closely observed. We are bound by The obvious fact That where there is light, so too shall Darkness exist. We are like Yin and Yang, she and I, And I demand that You release us both. You cannot hold me. She is not tameable. I am not her. If you truly Admire Something, would it Not be wise to Admire it from afar? The moment you Capture something, It loses a bit of its Majesty. And day by day, it loses more of Its freedom, its will, Its wild side... And soon enough it Is just an object Behind glass walls. It is no longer what it was when you captured It. The same goes here. If you truly wish to Hold onto me, You'll let me go. Observe from a distance And smile at the knowledge That no good thing Is subject to captivity If it is worthy in the Eyes of its beholder. Relinquish your hold On me. Set me free. -K. Alecia
