I was just wondering- what makes Andromache's mortality so tragic to me, so sad? She lived a long life and she is indeed still alive at the end of the film, so why would it be different than any movie about normal, mortal people that ends in the middle of their lifetime, knowing that they, too, will die someday? There shouldn't be a difference, right? Except. Except whether a story has a sad or a happy ending depends extremely on when you stop telling the story, and- while the film came to an end, with a mortal Andromache, the story of the rest of the Guard will not be over until long after her life has come to an end.
