Hey guys! How's it going?🙂. . Another week, another weekend 😉 This Friday I am trying a new one from The Balvenie, it's the new 12yo, The Sweet Toast of American Oak 👌🏻🥃? . Inspired to produce an even fruitier, sweeter Balvenie, Apprentice Malt Master Kelsey McKechnie had the bright idea to import Virgin Oak barrels from Kentucky. After deep toasting them at The Balvenie Cooperage they were filled with Balvenie aged in ex-bourbon barrels. The result is a delectably complex whisky with notes of candied fruit, coconut and delicate vanilla. . So let's see what we have here:. . Nose: Sweet and malty, then comes the citrus and vanilla oak notes, fudge, spicy oak, cinnamon, cloves and gingerbread. . Palate: Spicy cream of candied oranges, chocolate orange, coconut and lots of oak. Sweet, like brown sugar, butterscotch, citrus zest, toffee. . Finish: Rich, medium length. Lingering oak and vanilla spices. . It's not the most complex whisky, but I must say that I really like it 🙂 I recommend you try it 😉. . Cheers my friends and have a great weekend!
