June 2026: Ahmed from the 13th Warrior (1999)
Ahmed is the main character of one of my favorite little known movies of all time featuring Antonio Banderas pretty early in his career. It's almost impossible to find fanfiction for and only slightly less impossible to find GIFs for it. Hence why I've used this GIF so much.
Ahmed is such a sweetheart, I absolutely love him. He's such a joy to write for and he's fun to watch. I finally convinced my friend @streets-in-paradise to watch it!! Please, go watch it, this fandom needs to be bigger, I will continue giving it CPR for as long as I can.

The Northman (2022)
A surprisingly good movie that I watched which is about the tale of Prince Amleth (Alexander Skarsgård)’s quest for vengeance against his uncle who murdered his father and took his mother as his wife.
Considering the director is Robert Eggers, the man who made The Lighthouse, the story is a bit artistic as it focus on the mystical aspects of Viking culture with its rituals, folklores, witches, spirits and Valkyrie.
Nonetheless it’s an entertaining show if you love historical films like The King, Outlaw King, The Last Duel, 13th Warrior, Gladiator, Troy, and the likes. Coupled with epic soundtrack, it’s a film that takes you back in time.
My favourite scenes is seeing Valkyrie coming to retrieve a fallen Viking to Valhalla and the part where young Amleth asked his father why does he have to do manual labour when he is a prince with slaves under his command.
The father replied, nothing is certain. Today you are a prince, tomorrow you may be a slave. Best prepare yourself for both so you could survive. And at least, you’ll earn the respect of your slaves by being a capable leader.
