It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas 🎄
Since we decided against a real tree this year, I put lights and a few decorations on my dinky little fake tree, and hey, it’s something! That plus the wrapped gifts is helping to bring some festivity.
We took pep to the outlets by us a few days ago and despite it being pretty cold out, he was such a good sport. I’d been feeling pretty cabin-fever-y, so it was especially nice for me to get out and get some fresh air. I managed to finish my Christmas shopping and got myself a little gift, too. I initially bought it for someone else, but then found something even more suited for them, so decided to keep it for myself. Score!
Friday night we had some friends visit — we hadn’t seen them since before the pandemic. They’re vaxxed and have been super cautious, so it felt comfortable having them in the house. They didn’t get here til 10pm on Friday and you know my pregnant butt was fast asleep in bed. 😁 It worked out, because I was able to get extra rest and check on pep if he needed it, and B could stay up with our friends (who are more his friends than mine) without worrying about baby duty. Saturday morning, I got up with pep and we went out on a donut/bagel run for everyone, so I figure that makes up for my absence. Carbs fix everything. Overall it was a great visit and pep was a perfect little dude!
Today’s my last day off before returning to work and I think today’s mission is to find some baby-friendly end tables for our living room. We’ve been using/borrowing the stools from our kitchen island, but this morning our little hulk-baby knocked one over onto himself and scared the crap out of himself. He didn’t get hurt since I was right there, but he sure did get scared. So, it’s time for some actual end tables.
In the back of my mind are the genetic panel NIPT results which should be coming back in a few days.. I’m getting more and more eager to know! For today, though, I’ll be doing my “homework” from my doctor.. to collect all my urine in this terrible orange jug for 24 hours. So fun.
Happy Sunday!
