I did another stitch because Elaina’s beautiful here, love this outfit, love the hair, love the girl, full transparency I’m genuinely not into feet but I love hers anyway, et cetera et cetera
Maybe if I keep distracting myself by how much I am utterly infatuated with Elaina, I won’t need to talk about the episode. She’s beautiful, gorgeous, stunning, dazzling, entrancing, pretty, cute, adorable, alluring, charming, enchanting, sexy, fair, wonderful, breathtaking, magnificent, elegant, amazing, resplendent, astonishing, luscious, ravishing, desirable, pulchritudinous, unfathomable, illustrious, tantalising, arousing, out of this world, lovely, I obviously looked up a synonym list
Okay, so Wandering Witch episode 7. I didn’t really like it. It’s split into 2 minisodes this time. The first sees some country divided by a wall create traditions of travellers writing nice things on said wall from either side, then Saya returns again (which they should stop doing since it’s killing the impact of her being there) and gets the residents to write on the walls too, and then more than 7 fucking minutes into the episode, Elaina finally shows up (I mean her child appearance makes a few brief appearances but beyond being cute I don’t care about child Elaina, give me adult Elaina please) and by that point, the wall’s been torn down and the villagers are friends again. It’s just really drawn out and not super interesting and Elaina doesn’t really do anything or feel interesting in an observer role. It’s just shit happening and it’s pretty boring.
The second half fairs both better and worse. It’s better because there’s more Elaina, she wears a new outfit, she gets drunk, and she demonstrates her powers while drunk by destroying everyone with some grapes, thereby creating a tradition that the village would adhere to for decades to come. I like my Elaina having an impact on the places she visits so this was nice. And then it fairs worse because it’s like, so light hearted and stupid as to stick out like a sore thumb. The reason Elaina gets dressed up is because one half of this village she’s in wants to market her on wine bottles so they can beat the other half which are marketing their own pretty girl on their wine. The other half has their pretty girl come over, be really mean to Elaina (and she’s dead fucking wrong by the way Elaina is so infinitely more attractive than her), and then after putting in the work, Elaina realises the other half is lying about their marketing. Cue a visit to other pretty girl’s factory and she’s like, sipping wine and laughing maniacally as she makes all her simps do the work for her. It’s like a fucking Saturday morning cartoon plot and she’s the villain of it all. It was just dumb honestly. Also the entire time the main perspective dude helping Elaina talks about fetishism and wanting wine that’s been stepped on by cute girls. Now I’m not saying I wouldn’t drink Elaina’s foot wine (I don’t drink alcohol but I feel like I’d make an exception here) but like, shut up, god.
I guess the only real praise I have for this episode beyond my usual simping for Elaina stuff is that, at least the minisodes fit together well. Both are about divided countries being brought together for some reason or another. Which gives a good sense of cohesion. But otherwise that’s like, it. Both just kinda suck.
Oh well, hopefully next week’s is better.

3. Do you have a favorite scene you’ve written from Love me, Darling (please survive)?, 8. Do you prefer writing one-shots or multi chaptered stories?, 30. Do you write down all your ideas? What makes you decide to write one versus the other? You don't have to do them all of course :)
Oooh thank you so much for all these questions!!!
- I loved writing that fic in general! I think it's a tie of the Andromache POV re-write of the scene where she finds out about what's up with her mortality/immortality & the scene where Quynh noticed she's still wearing her necklace! This is the fic btw in case anyone else reads this and gets confused xD
- I actually /would/ prefer multichapters and I had a blast writing In Your Stead, but I don't often have the time or energy to quickly finish a story like that and end up not finishing them at all, so apart from stories that are already half-finished in their draft state like that one was, I now try to stick to series of oneshots!
- I try to! Leads to sometimes writing stuff down when I should be asleep, I'm most creative at night xD Used to have a little book where id scribble down ideas in like one bullet point per idea, now I have a several themed telegram messenger chats with just myself in them where I quickly write down ideas or story outlines when I already thought a fanfic through in my mind... I tend to pick ones where I really like the storyline and it isn't just a weird daydream that only half makes sense xD & I tend to pick the ones where I already have a story outline... and sometimes when I just have like half an hour before I want to need to go to bed because otherwise id be a zombie the next day, I just write a ficlet from whatever ideas I currently have without any sort of draft form! Most of my current andromaquynh oneshots of 0-1k words were written like that.
Again, thank you so much for the questions, this was fun!
Send me fanfic asks!
