Comments: A classic, top-tier pon farr fic surrounded by excellent characterization. Love Kirk's journey from "I will save my dying best friend" to "I'm enjoying this an embarrasing amount" to "Actually we were practically married already."

A curse made in moonlight and an endless quest for love.

Comments: Part magical fairytale, part quest, and all-around soft love story. I feel like people might have skipped over this one because of the major character death tag, but - with a spoiler warning here - let me assure you that it’s part of a bring back black/resurrection type of storyline and there is a happy ending. It’s heartfelt and gorgeously written and deserving of so much more love and attention.

Summary: “’Course, see?” Sirius repeats. He smiles triumphantly. “Exactly. So we should kiss. I’ll be your first kiss for you, Moony.”

Sirius moves to lean in again, but Remus doesn’t. Instead, he merely looks at him for what feels like an awfully long time.

“No, thanks.”

And forgive him for being big-headed, but this is an unexpected development, Sirius must admit.

Comments: Very cute, the perfect mix of obliviousness and pining. Can’t wait to read more from this author!

Summary: When Remus witnesses a disturbing event walking home one night, it sends him down a twisted path of many discoveries: secret societies, macabre rituals, cloaked figures, and a dark-haired boy who proves to be the most dangerous of all.

Comments: What delicious tension this had. Thoroughly enjoyed, just the right amounts of pining and spookiness. Also appreciated that the author jumped right into the story, showing the characters’ relationships instead of describing their whole history. Looking forward to reading more from them!

Comments: Now that was a wild ride; all kinds of crazy, ridiculous, and hilarious. It has that good balance of fluff and humor that I like in my crack fic.

#fall together fest - day 18

Author: eyra Rating: Mature Word Count: 21,428 Type: Non-magic!AU, Coffeeshop!AU

Summary: It's lovely up here; all meadows dotted with wildflowers, wind-beaten tracks criss-crossing this way and that through the fields, weaving inland to the pinewoods. The sun's hot on his back as he passes ramshackle stone walls, long since crumbled to piles of ancient rubble and scree, and then the path winds downwards, still following the line of the coast until Sirius finds himself outside an old white cottage, tucked away behind the hill with a rose garden that faces out to the sea.

Sirius moves to Cornwall for the summer and meets a rude, beautiful boy who is writing a book that may or may not be about dragons.

Comments: Honestly, I’ve been burned out on coffee shop AUs for a long time now, but I’m incredibly grateful I decided to give this one a chance. It’s a soft, heartwarming read set in a misty seaside town where there’s plenty of warm tea, stacks of books, and a cozy cottage. If all of that doesn’t scream comforting fic to reread again and again, I don’t know what will.

#fall together fest - day 10 Fest: RS Fix It Fest 2020

Summary: It’s the summer of 1963, and 18 year old Remus Lupin discovers dance, love, and even himself.

(A very romantic and very gay Dirty Dancing AU.)

Warnings: Period-Typical Homophobia, Period-Typical Racism (both mild)

Comments: Don’t judge, but I’ve never actually seen Dirty Dancing. I didn’t need to in order to enjoy this fun and fluffy romance, though. It was a wonderful escape full of lovely characters and relationships.

Summary: 5 times Peter Parker thought that Iron Man and Captain America were dating. And one time when he realized he wasn't the only one who thought that. OR How Peter accidentally caused Steve and Tony to get together by assuming they were already together.

Rating: Teen

Thoughts: This is absolutely adorable. With all the fun team bits and Tony and Steve being their adorable oblivious selves and Peter just going along with everything. This is a lovely story for a pick me up.
