as with every series I get into I have a habit of putting together a fanfic that takes place in the universe. Naturally Star Trek is not an exception and i happily put together a small chaotic crew when suddenly i remembered:

I FORGOT ABOUT PON FARR.

THERE ARE FIVE VULCANS ON THIS STARSHIP.

OUT OF TWENTY-SIX CREW MEMBERS.

I mean they can take a quick detour to Vulcan but holy shit i cannot believe i forgot the og of the bang or die trope.
