Thoughts on Grey’s Anatomy: 16X02

I Just finished watching the new episode of Grey’s Anatomy. I liked it! I liked the Premiere better but it was good. Bailey is finding new ways to spark joy and I am here for it. I loved the donut scenes with her and Ben! Owen shocking Tom in the balls with the paddles was both surprising and hilarious!

I think Tom hitting Owen with a restraining order was a bit of an overkill but at the same time Owen is an ass who is widely unpredictable. We'll have to see how that goes. My favourite parts of the episode were the scenes with Link and Amelia. I love how supportive he was and how he shared his fears with Jo and then Amelia. I loved how Amelia shared her fears with Maggie and then Link.

Amelia's had a rough go of it and I'm so glad that she's finally found a loving and supportive partner in Link. She deserves it. It will be interesting to see what Amelia and Link decided to do. I feel like this is a storyline that will persist for several episodes. I love how Mer is out helping people doing roadside medicine because she can't help being a doctor even when she's been fired! Go Mer!

I honestly don't understand what they are doing with DeLuca's character. He was way out of line this episode and as Bailey says he makes everything personal even when it's not. I'm glad Bailey put DeLuca in his place and called him out for that nonsense. He pulled the same crap on Alex last season, but didn't get in trouble for it because Alex didn't have time to deal with it because he was worried about Jo.  

Also who walks into a skills lab and compares their boss' techniques to those of their fired girlfriend's and then yells at their boss for teaching a younger resident? Who does that? DeLuca apparently and he's way out of line. He needs an attitude adjustment

One thing this episode taught us? Jackson Avery is an asshole and a sore loser. Who breaks up with their girlfriend after leaving them at the side of the road and then posts a picture on Instagram with the caption #Freedom? He does apparently. Maggie deserves SO much better than this crap. She deserves someone who gets her and isn't a total asshole.

I'm proud of Jo for getting Back In the Saddle (wink wink) and going back to work at Grey Sloan and using Alex's job offer to leverage a better job offer out of Bailey. You go girl! She deserves happiness. Seeing Alex and Richard work together at Pac North was fun! That hospital is a mess! But maybe the dream team can turn it around?

We'll have to wait and see how that turns out. I feel like Tom's supposed super star resident from Hopkins will be back in later episodes as will the fact that he's apparently not as competent as he pretends to be. Could be interesting. In other news, next week's episode looks like fun! The whole Cast From The Past thing that ABC is doing is a neat idea! Should be a good time!

This is not right! Just few seconds, in the same shot, we see Luke and JJ go away, on the left side of the screen, and then Penelope arriving on the right side. They, Luke and Pen, don't meet for a breath. It's Rossi fault, but still... We have to wait until the end of the episode (16x2), to see the reunion. Just a crazy garvez shipper can notice this kind of particular. 😂
