The same 2023 challenge by which I read any other manga I've read this year also lead to me reading this! And the brief thing I wrote about it to the friend that recommended it to me is basically as follows.

I'm a nonbinary person reading a manga wherein the premise is largely characters with various lived experiences navigating their own genders and so there's a fairly pronounced extent to which my reactions were defined by like comparing my own lived experiences and desires with those of the cast and that just intrinsically complicates things because even though I've settled on describing myself as nonbinary and certainly I have no issue with my biological sex or anything I do still feel like I'm in the midst of navigating these things for myself and consequently I maybe spent less time thinking about the media I was consuming and more time trying to ponder what parts of it kinda apply to me or not. For those reasons it's actually something I'd strongly like to reread (maybe physically if I get the chance to buy all the volumes? Because I'd do that), perhaps when I feel like I've cemented my I'll say gender performance a little more. Though speaking on the series itself without any "my own gender" reactions I wish it was a little longer, because there's quite a lot of like melodrama stuffs that could've reasonably been fleshed out a bit more, and that would've been nice. I do like how pronounced the character growth is though, in a series like this the before/after for any given character following their arc is a really striking difference and it feels nice to see everyone become more honest with themselves and become better people for it.

I then said a bit more but it's all in discord messages for which the formatting and pasting is annoying so you can tl;dr it as yeah no I od wanna reread this a lot and all that, woo. It's so fucking cold rn btw lol typing feels super hard
