Alexandra Bastedo The Champions (1968)
Alador Blight: Hogwarts AU
Alador Blight is a Pureblood wizard that was born on the 14th of September 1956 and started attending Hogwarts on the 1st of September 1968, being sorted into Ravenclaw House.
He has a Walnut wand with a Phoenix Feather core.
His Patronus is a Rat.
His favorite subjects were Potions and Charms.
His least favorite subjects were Defense Against the Dark Arts and Herbology.
Alador is a clumsy, easily distracted member of the Department of Mysteries. If something catches his attention, it can be quite hard for others to get him to focus on anything else. He doesn't seem to be very talkative, as he only speaks when necessary. When asked questions by others, such as Luz, he is as direct and concise as possible. Alador mostly lets his wife take the lead in situations, helping her with whatever she tells him to do, but he does have a limit. This is shown when Odalia tries to go back on her deal with Amity, and Alador reminds her that their family always honors their deals, indicating he has a sense of integrity and honor.
Alador also seems to object to his wife's willingness to put others in danger for profit. This is shown when an injured Luz claims the magic-powered robot has more than proven its strength to the spectators, and Alador tells his wife that Luz "has a point". Alador cares about Amity, as well as her progress, as indicated by his smile when Amity stands up to Odalia and almost destroys his work. This is also shown when Amity helps him take down Warden Wrath together, making a proud expression.
Although he does love them, Alador does not pay his children much attention, much to their frustration. This deeply strained his relationship with Amity, who seeks to prove her worth to him and to understand him better, especially when she finally reaches the age to compete in Hogwarts' Potion Tournament. Alador, believing that his daughter has a bright future and shouldn't "goof off" as he did at her age, refuses to let her participate and willingly goes along with the notion that she needs to study for her exams instead, under the belief that working for the ministry it is her dream. When he finds out that she disobeyed him, Alador is disappointed and furious with her, even remarking that she could fail if she doesn't focus more on her studies. However, Amity soon teaches him that she needs to make decisions without him and Odalia butting in, which he accepts.
Alador expresses shock when he learns that Amity no longer wants to work for the ministry, in addition to the fact that she is dating Luz, realizing that he hardly pays his children any attention because he is too focused on his work. Feeling regret over how he treated Amity, Alador begins to see her for who she wants to be, admitting that he likes her new hair color and resolving to speak with Odalia about attempting to dye her hair green again. Although Amity doesn't fully forgive him, she appreciates that he's trying to be better, saying that "it's a start".
After getting on a new start with Amity, Alador slowly resolves to pay more attention to his children and defy his wife's control. Tired and overworked by Odalia, he reflects on his marriage, feeling miserable and unaccomplished. Eventually, Odalia's intentions on keeping Amity, Luz, and their friends prisoner while helping Belos exterminate their species for her own personal gain causes Alador to snap, and he finally stands up to Odalia, destroying their mansion and disabling the rest of the robots he created. He also quits his post at the ministry, slowly developing and turning over a new leaf for the greater good. Alador also seems to have grown fond of Luz, inviting her to stay at the new Blight Manor anytime (although an illusion then reveals that Luz is actually Hunter, shocking him).
"I'VE GOT THE MONITORS UP AS FAR AS THEY CAN GO! BUT THEY'RE NOT MAKING ANY SOUND!"
PIC(S) INFO: Spotlight on Lou, Moe, Sterling and Doug of American rock band, THE VELVET UNDERGROUND, crowded in a corner of TTG Studios in Los Angeles, CA, playing together in late 1968, rehearsing/ recording for their eponymously titled third album. 📸: Sandy Schor.
EXTRA INFO: Photos from the VU book, “I Met Myself in a Dream…That’s the Story of the Third Album," featuring 184 photos taken by Sandy Schor of the band in and around the Los Angeles studio, Nov 6th and Nov 8th of 1968, as well as many other things related to their third record.
"These pictures give you a real sense of how THE VELVET UNDERGROUND recorded their self titled third album. The studio was large, they had room to spread out, but they chose to huddle close, creating music so quiet the engineer was reported to say “I've got the monitors up as far as they can go, but they're not making any sound!” These were songs the Velvets had recently honed on the road. As Doug put it:
"Essentially, all those songs were already being played. The album itself, when it was recorded, was done basically as a live album. All four of us played together for the tracks and then we went back and overdubbed the vocals and any solos ... It was very organic. One of the reasons it has that particular sound is that it was just pulled out of the band while it was touring, and so it wasn't a lot of time to over-think it. It was just played.""

Kai Chisaki: Hogwarts AU
Kai Chisaki is a Pureblood wizard that was born on the 20th of March 1957 and started attending Hogwarts on 1st of September 1968, being sorted into Slytherin House.
He has a Yew wand with a Dragon Heartstring core.
His Patronus was non-corporeal.
His favorite subject was Charms and his least favorite subjects was Herbology.
Kai is a mysophobic, antisocial sociopath obsessed with reshaping the world to one without magic. Due to a combination of an old theory claiming magic derived from rats and his mysophobia, Kai believes that magic is a plague on humanity, having infected people with "syndromes" of light and dark. He looks down upon those that use their magic for either purpose, referring to acts of heroic sacrifice or petty crime as "sicknesses". Kai is highly determined to his ambition of eradicating magic, not only due to his phobias but also because such a thing would allow a Mafia Boss to reclaim the power they once held over society. Kai has no moral compass and an enormous ego, viewing himself as the only person in the world who's enlightened to the "true nature" of magic and deserving of the spot as ruler of the underworld after All For One's downfall. Despite this, Overhaul's values are noted to be paradoxical, particularly his over reliance on his own magic, which he happened to name himself after.
As the leader of the Shie Hassaikai, Kai is usually levelheaded, thinks strategically, and, according to a conversation with Twice, seems nice at first. Whether he is acting or behaving genuinely, Kai possesses polite mannerisms and can come off as very calm and classy even to people he considers potentially troublesome, evident during his first meeting with Mirio Togata and Izuku Midoriya. If aggravated, however, he may display a powerful and visible killing intent, more fitting of his true character.
Kai is very germaphobic and hates anything he perceives as unsanitary, frequently remarking about the unclean appearances of certain people and locations. He refuses to be touched by others or even breathe in the same air as theirs, which is one of the reasons he wears an air-filtering plague doctor mask and forces his subordinates to do the same while around him. If blood, dirt, or some other unclean substance comes in contact with Kai's person, he will start developing hives and lose his usual composure, becoming increasingly unhinged as a result. In drastic circumstances, though, Kai will let go of his aversions to crush an enemy standing in his way, either due to pragmatism or out of sheer hatred.
Kai doesn't value humans, viewing people as pawns for their utilitarian value and being willing to experiment on them to accomplish his objectives. He carries this sentiment even towards the other members of the organization to which he has dedicated himself since childhood, treating them as expendable sacrifices for his well-being and having no qualms about killing them off for the most minor mistakes. The masks worn by Kai's closest subordinates also serve as a reminder of this mindset; he doesn't view them as worthy of sharing the same air as him.
Even Eri, his boss' granddaughter and the centerpiece of his operations, is not spared from this brutal way of thinking as Kai frequently shames and abuses her through threats and guilt trips, seemingly to force subservience on her mind. He ruthlessly performed experiments on Eri, which involved painfully disassembling and reassembling her body with healing charms, and had no problem with killing people in front of her, including her minders when they allowed her to escape. Kai was possessive over Eri due to her being the key component in his plans, flying into a massive rage when she was taken from him and going to extreme measures to get her back. Despite being assigned as her foster father, Kai had no intention of parenting her and later confessed to Mirio that he never saw her as his child. Another hypocritical facet of Kai's plans was his obsession with Eri's powerful magic, the power that enabled him to fulfill his plan of destroying other people's magic.
In public, Kai acts as a strict yet regular father, becoming irritated when bystanders pry. He casually made excuses for Eri's bandages and fearful behavior, saying that she was simply a clumsy and badly behaved child who was afraid of being told off.
The only person Kai has ever shown genuine care and concern for is the former Shie Hassaikai Boss, who rescued him from the streets at a very young age and raised him as a criminal. Kai, to this day, still feels deeply indebted to his boss for taking him in, being adamant in returning said debt by returning the organisation to their glory days somehow. Ironically, despite his sociopathic mindset and inhumane treatment of others, this makes his ideals about family much more personal than any other members of the organization. Aside from this, he has also shown to value Hari Kurono, his childhood friend and right-hand man, having healed his injuries and being the only one of his subordinates he does not treat as disposable.
As a young wizard, Kai was extraordinarily ruthless and would kill anyone who didn't show the Shie Hassaikai the proper respect, constantly getting into fights with rival gangs. Kai's boss, who was growing aware of the violent, immoral path his underling was following to uphold the name of the Shie Hassaikai, attempted to sway him towards a more honorable course, but to no avail; Kai became more and more convinced that illegal, questionable dealings were the only way the mafia could ever restore their former honor. This immorality would lead the misanthropic Kai to develop an interest in the boss's granddaughter because he considered her rewinding abilities a golden opportunity for the Shie Hassaikai, believing that he could produce a Magic-Destroying Drug out of her cells that would give the mafia enough power to take control of the black market.
Despite his loyalty and indebtedness to his superior, Kai could not accept his boss's refusal over the idea, attacking and leaving him comatose to work on his plan unimpeded. Kai took over the Shie Hassaikai under the twisted belief that everything he was doing was for the sake of his boss and the organization, intending to bring his boss out of his coma after he completed his plan.
Ultimately, Kai's failure to recognize others and his obstinate nature resulted in his downfall. As noted by Tomura, even though Kai's goal was to erase magic and restore the mafia to power, he hypocritically used magic to achieve that plan. Despite his strong-willed attitude, he is capable of expressing genuine fear and shock, especially post-defeat, after the League of Dark Wizards took away his product and ability to use his magic, screaming as the reality of being unable to bring the boss out of his coma hit him.
As seen by the time of Azkaban's mass riot and breakout, Kai's imprisonment and the comatose status of his boss have left him as a shell of his former self, being rendered to a near-catatonic state and being unresponsive to everyone, anyone, and everything around him. This refractory state is seen when he had little to no reaction to the mass riot during the Azkaban prison break and later showed no response to the appearance of Tomura Shigaraki and All For One, only being able to mumble the words "Boss", in reference to his father figure. During his talk with Lady Nagant, Kai laments over having lost everything, not even wanting to exact any revenge and only cares about reuniting with his boss, mumbling about how he wants to see him again, even when close to danger.
Kai is even shown crying out of regret while begging to apologize to the boss. While he still hates Izuku (despite the latter having saved his life) and holds no remorse for his treatment of Eri, he does agree to make amends with Eri, but only so he could save his boss. This would ultimately not happen however, in order to spare Eri from reliving her past trauma.
Following the Final War, Kai finally reunites with his boss who had been awakened through advanced support items. In the face of his former boss, who admonishes him for his crimes and for causing Eri so much pain, all Kai can do is cry, snivel, and apologize, with his inhumane actions having doomed both himself and the organization that he swore to revive.
Lilith Clawthorne: Hogwarts AU
Lilith Clawthorne is a Pureblood witch that was born on the 13th of February 1957 and started attending Hogwarts on the 1st of September 1968, being sorted into Ravenclaw House.
She has a Beech wand with a Phoenix Feather core.
Her Patronus is a Raven.
Her favorite subject is History of Magic and her least favorite subject is Divination.
She was one of the Ravenclaw Prefects of her year, a year from her third year onward and Quidditch Captain from her sixth year onward.
In contrast to Eda, Lilith is conservative, straight-laced, and generally law-abiding. She takes great pride in her role as a mentor and was initially surprised to see Eda in Diagon Alley, believing she had finally decided to start working for the ministry, only for her sister to laugh at the notion. She has a tense sibling rivalry with Eda due to them being almost equal in terms of power and on opposite sides of the law; regardless, she still genuinely cares for Eda.
Though first appearing to be everything her sister is not, Lilith is also not above cheating, having given her apprentice Amity Blight advices about forbidden spells to amplify her magic, knowing full well her sister would do something similar (although it could be argued that she was leveling the playing field). She proves willing to do anything to achieve her goals, such as attempting to distract Eda by endangering her student Luz Noceda, and cursing Eda when she was younger. She later explains to Luz that she was acting on minister Belos' teachings of sacrifice (given this is Belos' teachings, it's unlikely she is misinterpreting his teachings so much as that is what he teaches). Lilith admits her jealousy stems from feelings of inadequacy, lamenting that she had to become stronger because Eda was better. However, despite this, she shows guilt and everything she did was in an attempt to save Eda. She is also shown to be quicker to anger and more impulsive and naïve compared to her sister, firmly believing Belos' false promise to remove Eda's curse.
Lilith seems to suffer from a severe lack of empathy towards others. She was unable to realize that cheating would hurt Amity emotionally, and easily dismissed Luz as just a "mudblood pet" to Eda, not seeing the strong bond the two share. Perhaps the biggest examples of this are her constant attempts to make Eda start working for the ministry, not seeing or understanding that Eda just doesn't want to work for them, or even after taking Luz as a hostage (although this was after a threat of Dementor's Kids by Belos), thinking that Eda will change her mind about the ministry upon starting. This also shows a somewhat self-centered side, holding on so strongly to her way of thinking that she refuses to accept others.
However, despite these flaws, Lilith is capable of seeing the error of her ways and will admit it. When Belos revealed that he had no intention of curing her sister, she rebelled against him and turned to Luz in order to save her sister, having realized that Eda was right about not trusting Belos. She also proved herself to be able to atone for her mistakes, as after she, Luz, and King rescued Eda, she cast a spell that shared Eda's curse to make amends.
After quitting her position at the ministry, Lilith has been trying hard to prove to Eda that she is trustworthy. Initially, she felt useless without the ministry, but after befriending Hooty, she gains a more positive outlook on her new life. She now enables her sister's trouble-making personality, encouraging her to pull pranks on ministry workers, even if she still prefers to follow the rules herself. Lilith has also become much more empathetic and caring towards others, like Hooty, but still retains her prideful nature, stating that the aurors are clueless without her. After spending time with her parents, Lilith reveals an overeager scholastic side of herself and goes out of her way to prove she can be daring and cool, likely brought out by Hooty and Luz.
It would appear that Lilith has a compulsive need to please those she perceives as being superior to her in any way and search for their validation, with that bordering on some level of obsession. Though that was not seen much during her time with the ministry, that trait became more evident after she left it. During her muggle lessons with Luz, Lilith acted like a teacher's pet, always craving for Luz's praises through her accomplishments or by making an clay sculpture of her as "extra credit". Through her interactions with her mother and Eda's memories, it was possible to see that Lilith would always try to get her mother's attention in any way she could. When she discovered that King was a member of the Titan family, she started to treat him like he was a god who deserved all the worship she could give him, seeing her own life as meaningless compared to his, even if they had known each other for a long time and she was legally his aunt. After King told her to stop that, he pointed out Lilith's need to please others.
