Do you have any tips for finding the now-deleted MTV news interview from before 1D’s first SNL appearance?

you can usually track it down through fan-archived sources.

1. check old compilation channels on youtube. a lot of early-era 1D interviews were ripped and reposted by fan accounts years ago. search things like “one direction mtv 2012 interview” or “1d snl mtv” — people rarely label them perfectly, so it might be hidden inside a longer compilation.

2. look through tumblr tag archives. blogs that were active in 2012–2013 often reblogged uploads or gifs sourced from the video. sometimes they’ll link to a mirror upload or a downloadable file that still works.

3. look for gifsets. this sounds silly LMAO, but gif makers often list their source (or someone in the notes will ask “source?” and get an answer). it can lead you straight to a reupload.

How long have you been in the fandom? 1d and Larry

hello! i’ve been here since the very start — 2010. i watched the boys on x factor with my mom when i was 9 and immediately fell in love. i’m pretty sure i stumbled into larry the next year, but honestly, i did notice things during the x factor days. i was literally a child though, so i didn’t know anything about… well, anything. i didn’t actually call myself a larrie until 2012, once i’d learned a bit more and connected the dots.

I think why I'm bothered is that I feel like Louis must have known how his hiatus comment would be taken. When it was first brought up in aotv, fans blamed Harry. And now again the same thing has happened, but it was further emphasized with the "person" not being brave about giving an answer about length. Louis would have had a good idea that it would happen again. So if they are still together, why send that hate towards your partner, even if unintentionally?

because he wasn’t “sending hate” toward his partner — or any of them, for that matter. he was sharing his experience of that moment, which he’s absolutely allowed to do by the way. no matter how he worded it, people would’ve twisted it anyway, because blaming harry has always been the easy route. it fits the tired narrative that they dislike each other, that they’re throwing digs back and forth, when that’s just not what’s happening. and at the end of the day, this is one voice out of four recounting the event. we may never hear the others’ perspectives, but that doesn’t mean it’s fair or logical to pin blame on one person based on one side of the story. also, if simply talking about a past event in the band and making one comment counts as “sending hate to harry,” then by that logic, none of them should ever mention the band again for fear of “sending hate” to the others, right?

i mean, i’m biased—my favorite larry songs are obviously my own aha shameless plug: new album dropping 9.28.25—

but for real, i’ve got a few. the OG for me will always be Uncover by Zara Larsson, but They Don’t Know About Us by our boys? yeah, that will forever be a larry anthem in my heart.

as for solo music, i find myself listening to Harry’s the most. i genuinely love all of them, but Harry’s songs just hit so differently for me—they’re the ones that make me feel something deep in my chest.
