50 Days of Dissertation

Day 9/50

My PI gave me feedback on Wednesday of last week and I spiraled. But it’s okay. I recovered and had a good Valentine’s Day. I know how to fix my introduction. Working on data analysis for my last project. XPS is so dumb.

I need to finish my introduction by Thursday. Not looking forward to feedback for the rest of my paper. But it’s okay. It doesn’t need to reflect my worth. It just needs to be done.

My comfort show is back in a new form. Watching CSI:Vegas, after seeing Greg when I was a kid and wanting to work in a lab when I now work in a lab is so weird. Hearing “Who Are You” after so long (only 6 years, but still) just brought me right back. I wrote a paper my junior year of high school about forensic entomology. I have CSI board games and a CSI color changing mug with fingerprints. I own the better seasons on DVD. I don’t care that it’s “not original” and just a cash grab. Seeing Grissom, seeing science, seeing a diverse cast, and getting lost in the random jargon is just so fun. I’m so excited for the rest of this series.

9/8/20~

I finally started grad school today! Virtually, but still. Refreshed my thermo knowledge by reading the first chapter of our textbook and had my first lecture. Excited for my polymers class tomorrow.

Okay, but the cutest thing to come out of these classes is my professor who will repeatedly mention how many students are in the call and thank us for joining him.
