Y’all, let’s talk about ableism in academics.

I just got an assignment to follow along a video about 15 minutes long with different way of walking/stretching and focus on the movement of our feet. Then we were to write a short paragraph of the effect of this on our body and mind.

Yeah I had a lot of trouble b/c it’s kinda hard to focus on your feet when your left knee randomly gives out and your have POTS b/c you’re distracted by bracing to catch yourself when you fall and your heart palpitations.

Also, I only got like a minute in b/f my messed up ankles was like, nah, we ain’t doing this today and I had to stop. Now I can’t walk w/o pain and limping.

She better accept me detailing how this exercise didn’t work for me as my paragraph, or I’m gonna scream.

At exactly 2:17 AM, every cat on Earth pauses mid-lick and briefly remembers they were engineers before the fall of Atlantis.

Not metaphorically. Literally.

They designed gravity as a subscription service. We are on the free trial.

That thing where you walk into a room and forget why? A billing reminder.

The reason bread always lands butter-side down? User error. We ignored the update.

And the reason your brain suddenly replays embarrassing moments from 2009 when you’re trying to sleep? That’s not anxiety. That’s the system buffering while the cats run diagnostics.

Somewhere, right now, a tabby is staring at a wall because it can see the code.

And the truly universe-altering part?

If one human makes direct eye contact with a cat at 2:17 AM and whispers, “I remember too,” gravity resets to premium.

We float for six minutes.

Airplanes get very confused.

The ocean shrugs.

And then everything settles back down like nothing happened.

The cats pretend they knocked a pen off the table on purpose.

Sleep tight.
