Anne (Part 1) Black Sails Musical Parallels | XV. XVI. XVIII. XXV. XXIX. XXXVI.
music breakdown note: the music in this parallel is made up of four different parts. The main parts are A and B, and the additional ones are C, E. (D is almost an overtone rather than a part, and sometimes plays underneath other main parts.)
All the scenes in this group have A, B The exceptions are the second scene in XV, as well as XXIX, which both play only B. The first scene in XV also has E and D.
music variation note: XXIX is in a lower key
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4
I spent a year rewatching Black Sails and tracking all the bits of music that repeated at any point during the show, and my findings are reinforcing that Bear McCreary is a genius and this show should have been called 'parallels that will kill you over and over again'* (tag | chronological)

To be alone with you.
saw Friday’s afterlife video and went “dang that is some good pontential art… im gonna draw it”
I very very deeply would like to know what exactly is happening here. I haven’t played chess in years, but I’m pretty sure you can’t get six pawns all lined up like that. Do neither of them know how to play or is Dan Heng just messing with March after realizing she had no clue what was going on? He’s either extremely confused or highly amused and I NEED to know which.
devs are so astronomically down bad in this quest (me too ngl, we’re getting fed well this update)
