Anyway, I want Robert to enjoy himself. From the sound of things, it’s not exactly a barrel of laughs at home for him. (Part 2 of 2)

Angie is more than happy for Robert to stay for tea and overnight and Jack readily agrees (Robert’s happy face ie everything 🥰). Meanwhile, the happy unit of Jack, Diane and Andy have tea themselves clearly not missing Robert not being there as they have a food fight. Angie is right that ‘every time a couple splits up, it’s always the kids that suffer.’ Diane and her not so great advice about Robert to Jack. It’s more horizontal time for Jack and Diane.

Diane: He’s a grand lad, Jack. You should be proud. (of course, it’s about Andy 😒)

Jack: I am. I’m a bit worried about Robert though.

Diane: Why?

Jack: I don’t know. I can’t seem to talk to him. I mean, I know he’s not happy but… I don’t know what to do about it?

Diane: Sometimes you just gotta let your kids get on with it. Wrapping them in cotton wool isn’t gonna help. It’s a big, bad world out there and sooner or later they are gonna find that out. The most you can do is… well… help steer them through it. (Diane, Robert is 14 years old, too young!)
