Dad, Diane’s okay it’s… it’s just a bit weird. I mean, she’s not mum, is she?
Kathy and Robert chat about how he’s settling back at home and Andy not thrilled about him being home. But hey, he’ll get a girlfriend soon enough to occupy his time just like Andy is doing now. Robert winds up having lunch with Jack and Diane. Robert assures Jack he’s okay with Diane.
Robert: I’m not sure about Andy.
Kathy: That’s probably because Andy’s spending most time with Katie.
Robert: Yeah, he is, isn’t he?
Kathy: Oi, you’re gonna have a girlfriend of your own soon.
Robert: Yeah, that’s the plan. 😈

Andy’s slept on the soft and he has some explaining to do to Jack (and Emily). Well, he’s just giving Robert space. Maybe they need their own room Emily suggests but no, they should be grown up enough to settle their own differences. Diane shows up and welcomes Robert (‘the warrior has returned’). Jack gives Robert money to go into Hotten and it’s a no for Andy joining him. Diane celebrates Jack’s family being together again by them having lunch at the Woolie. Robert runs into Ollie. The lunch is so so with Andy making the usual gibes while Kathy tries to keep things positive. Robert asks about Andy’s girlfriend. Did she dump him already? No. Well, she will…
Diane: Brotherly love’s still a little bit thin on the ground is it?
Jack: Yeah, well I thought after some time apart they’d be mates again but it just seems to have made things worse.
Diane: A lots happened, Jack. It’s gonna take some time. And the important thing is the family’s back together, eh Victoria?

DCI Harvey and DC Brundel continue on with the case and confirm the fire was indeed an amateur arson job. Richie’s mum, Denise, is shocked her son shacked up with a married woman ten year OLDER than herself (48 to her 38) and gives him a lecture. Jack tells Victoria about Sarah’s death. Diane, showing up at hospital, takes Victoria back with her. It’s time for the boys to be questioned by Harvey, Robert is first up (his first interrogation!). Robert basically gives Andy an alibi believing, since he came out of the house, he was always there.
DCI Harvey: Run the names passed me again, Brundel.
DC Brundel: Robert and Andy Sugden, sir.
DCI Harvey: Which one’s adopted?
DC Brundel: Andy, the dark haired one.
