Me, during watching Avengers: Endgame

You know, I was pretty glad we got this small scene. Throughout the majority of the film, Groot was pretty much just in the background, playing no real part in the story or interacting much with each of the characters - he was just there. And when it came to Gamora, it would have been nice to see how he would have interacted with her and what he was thinking and feeling.

Just like everyone else in the group, he lost Gamora too. And just like Quill, Groot also had a special kind of relationship with her; she was his mother.

When you watch through their scenes together in Volume 2, it's very clear to see that Gamora was a mother figure to Baby Groot. She looks out for him, she holds him and is more than happy to comfort him. She's there whenever he needs her.

I know you can only put so much in a movie, but I feel like Groot was done so dirty here? To see someone who he considered to be his mum look at him and not know who he was nor care for him must have really hurt. Their interaction before the very end of Volume 3 was not pleasant at all. Sure, she couldn't understand him but all she really did was shout at him. So, him approaching her at the end was sort of nice. He was really nervous to approach her and once she finally was able to understand him, perhaps he'd finally got some sort of closure for his grief. I wanted wanted more of that, just something that would be enough to subtly call back to the relationship he had with his Gamora.

I think overall it would have been nice to see a couple of more scenes with the two of them or even just a small interaction between the two earlier in the film so we could have a proper build up to them having a nice moment at the end. It would have had more of an impact.

can't wait to go back to making her my whole personality again... I mean she is the reason why my internet name is Lady Murderess after all
