9-1-1: Lone Star (TV series)
2020│Procedural Drama, Action
So yesterday I paused this show around ep 2 of S4. I plan on continuing it later and finishing it but for now I'm rather done with it. I started this series because of Tarlos (Carlos and TK) and omg I'm so glad I did cause they r so freaking cute together!
Tho I started only for them, I came to like the show and other characters as well! Like i absolutely adore Owen, Judd, Paul, Mateo, and Marj. Basically the whole 126 unit! Tho I do admit, I feel the show would have been better off with only 3 seasons. I was very invested in S1, 2 and 3 but then when I started S4, my interest just kinda went away and I got bored of watching this series 😭.
Like they say, too little or too much both are bad. In my opinion, 3 is the perfect number to end it at. Afterwards, it felt like it was dragging and just going on and on and yeah, I lost my patience and my interest. So I had to pause. Or maybe if they kept just 10 eps or something for all the seasons it would be better. Rather than increasing the number of eps for each season as we go 😭
But yeah anyway aside from this, I really love TK! He's so freaking hot 🔥
And actually even Owen is pretty handsome 🤭. Which reminds me, i must praise how they casted the Strand family so perfectly! TK really looks like Owen and Gwyn's son! And also, I loved Owen and Gwyn together! They made such a beautiful couple 💖
Lastly, I wanna talk about Tommy Vega. I personally feel like her character was ruined towards the end of S3. It baffled me how easily she got ready to date again! Like the first attempt was with this guy she met at that grief group which was so weird but still I turned a blind eye to it. Cause like, alright whatever. Mind you, her husband's been dead for just 1 year so far. But what really blew my mind and made me really dislike her character was when she started getting ready to have a relationship with her dead husband's little brother! Like wtf, that was just fucked up.
Ik the little brother kissed her first and I liked how she shut it down and all, but then later on, she's going to her husband's grave and saying stuff like "ik you must have guided this relationship and would be happy with it" which side eye 🙄, cause wtf. He has just been dead for 1 year and you think he would guide you to have a relationship with his little brother?! 😭 It was nasty tbh, can't believe that the little brother was the one who decided not to have the relationship in the end. Cause Tommy was so ready for it 😭
And then not much later, her third attempt with the pastor ☠️, atp i was fed up with her and her scenes with these possible lovers. So i just started skipping her scenes.
And yeah that's it for now. As I have paused it, so far this is all i have to say about it. When I do finish the show, I'll update this post!
Update (21/Oct/25) - Just now finished watching the last episode of S4 and woah 😭 it ending with Robert's death and Tommy's song made me so emotional! Honestly, I am really saddened by Gabriel's death. It was so unexpected and devastating! 😭 And then the next episode was so very emotional and moving with the whole wedding and Tommy's amazing heart moving song and all these beautiful moments filled with life, growth, and death 🥹❤️. This last episode really kinda showed the whole cycle of life and living right? I really loved it! It was very amazing and overall S4 ended quite splendidly, even tho I did get a lotta frustrated with many things in many episodes and rolled my eyes and called so many characters stupid 😂 for doing such busybody stuff. I mean honestly, most of the characters r still alive and everything ended well only cause it's a TV show 😂 this shit will never pass irl but ig that's the point yeah? So yup, it was quite a ride. Now Imma start S5! See ya in my next update ~
