Today’s agenda: two striking sketches of The Strain characters. Both stubborn in their own way. One magnetic, the other complicated.

It is hard for me to believe there are people who do not like Fet, but Dutch is definitely a character who can stir up mixed feelings, and I understand why. She has her rough edges, and throughout the seasons she did not always make the most reasonable choices. But without her, the show would probably have felt a little duller.

At first, I honestly could not believe Dutch was not in the book canon. Her sarcasm, reckless courage, and a certain kind of desperation always made me feel something, whether positive, negative, or somewhere in between. And that is a good thing.

What she did to Vasiliy was really unpleasant, though. I wanted to strangle her for that 😂 But later, she more than made up for it with Setrakian.
