June 11, 2021: Before her speech at the event closing of “Santander WomenNOW 2021”, Queen Letizia spoke a few words about the three girls killed recently in Spain.

Olivia (6) and Anna (1), from Tenerife. They had been kidnapped by their father in April. He had said to their mother that she’d never see him or the girls again. On June 10 Olivia’s body was found at sea and the Spanish authorities are still looking for Anna’s body as well as of their father, who, likely, murderered them and committed suicide.

Rocío Caíz (17), from Sevilla. Rocío was mother to a four-month-old son and disappeared on June 3 in the Sevillian town of Martín de la Jara. She had gone to her ex-boyfriend’s house to get a baby stroller. He has now pleaded guilty to the Civil Guard and has confessed that he killed her that same day, dismembered her and put the remains in several bags that he threw in containers in different places on the outskirts of the municipality of Estepa. Now security forces are searching the area.
