I just found out that they didn't count my vote
My family moved in October and we were told by our parents to not bother changing our registered address for voting and then to say we still lived in the old place when we went to vote. My mom went and said she still lived at the old place but then my brother went and said he moved so I also told them I moved. I said "we lived in A county but we just moved to L city (city across the river, not in the same voting county)". Mind you my brother said the same thing and got a chance of address form super easy, but the lady who was signing me in immediately went and some higher up and I struggled with the second lady because she kept thinking I said I moved from A county to L city even when I told her "no we lived here on WS road, we just moved into City and I need to change my address" she said "well I just called the voting office and you have to vote in City because you're not registered to vote here". Then my brother and the lady he was with come up and he says "no me and her live together, were siblings, and we just moved INTO CITY, she is registered to vote HERE and needs to update her address" and the lady I'm with is immediately like "well why didn't you say that" so I went with the lady that was with my brother and she gives me what they say is a change of address form and I filled it out and voted (Kamala, blue down the ticket).
Then today I got mail that says my vote didn't count because I'm not a resident of A county and my registration didn't go through, along with a voter registration application.
My registration. Which I filled out in May as soon as I turned 18. Just now didn't go through? And my brother didn't get any kind of letter that his vote (Trump) didn't go through even though we did the exact same thing?
It says on the back of the application "if you are currently registered to vote, you do not have to use this form unless you have moved or changed your name" so it seems like someone didn't put it in the change of address pile and put it in the registration pile or something but I don't know. It's just really annoying that my first vote didn't even count.
EDIT: just found out they didn't count my brother vote either but not because of a location thing, he just didn't check the "I am not a felon" or "I am a felon but I can vote" boxes or whatever. My parents votes still counted because they lied but whatever.
