2025 had some rough patches, but I made some irreplaceable new friends during it that I hope I’ll have forever. Eclipse is great at getting folks attention, so I have him to thank for that 😎✨ here’s hoping 2026 brings newer and even better things!

top 10 dramas

10. legend of the magnate: what an unexpected delight. a story that never stops, characters and performances that dazzle, gorgeous gorgeous visuals, every element perfectly balanced. if you need a story about people refusing to give in to the horrors, this drama is for you.

9. legend of zang hai: i don't know why people hate on this, unless they're xz antis. this is how you do revenge dramas: by showing how destructive that revenge actually is in all directions. i was riveted.

8. gemini: someone snatched this mini right out of my id. a sarcastic murder princess and her golden retriever murder brother boyfriend. and it's actually well made! none of that "eh it's a mini no one cares." it's unhinged but it's well-scripted well-acted unhinged. more like this, please.

7. a moment but forever: the first drama in a long time that inspired me to write multiple in-depth metas and frame-by-frame scene analysis. i bet it's overlooked because the fl isn't the preferred sunshiney cute girl type and it's technicolor xianxia but it's one of the smartest explorations of power, divinity, and identity this year.

6. when destiny brings the demon: the chemistry of this otp! it's also an extremely solid, extremely fun xianxia plot. yeah the amnesia arc was too long and sucked in a lot of ways. but i still adore the fuck out of this drama.

5. had i not seen the sun: holy fuckballs batman. have you ever wondered what a dark psychological thriller would be like if it also put a heartwrenching romance through the most devastating series of events ever? i spent so much time rewatching scenes trying to piece together wtf is happening while also crying over everything they put my babies through, cheering on serial murder, and railing against the injustices. absolutely beautifully batshit. i love it so much.

4. moonlit reunion: possibly the biggest surprise considering it wasn't initially on my radar at all, but wow was this incredible. for all of its demons magic etc, it's so human and grounded. also a candidate for hottest bath scene (in a year full of hot bath scenes).

3. under the moonlight: y'all PLEASE watch this!!!! it's gotten zero attention because it doesn't have any traffic stars and isn't on any of the popular streaming services, but i promise going to the piratey places will be worth your while. i loved all of the characters (even the ones i loved to hate) and the otp completely surprised me. candidate for best wedding scene (in a year full of good wedding scenes).

(tie) the blossoming love: the first drama of the year and still at the top of the list. i don't know how they plotted everything so tightly and perfectly considering all the lives and loops. i adore the otp, the third lead is incredible, and even supporting characters i thought would be annoying turned out to be wonderful. how did they do it? how???

1. (tie) fated hearts: i admit that it's not perfect. i do. BUT I LOVE IT SO MUCH AND I DON'T CARE IT'S PERFECT IN MY HEART!

otp of the year

mu xuanling & xie xuechen in the blossoming love almost win it for taking the concept of ride or die to a cosmic level. but if you have paid attention to my blog at all you’ll know there’s only one answer here. fu yixiao & feng suige of fated hearts are everything i ever wanted in an otp and they stole my heart and mind (and caused a little bi panic). who does it like them?

fave antagonist

no story would be complete without that character that's there to fuck shit up for the leads. su zixuan in legend of the magnate is a scheming, gun toting agent of chaos and i personally loved what she brought to the story. and in terms of a performance so committed and disturbing that i’d probably reflexively punch the actor if i ever encountered him on the street, i have to shout out edward zhang as creepy mccreeperson qin yi in under the moonlight.

fave supporting character

maybe it’s the recency bias, but i am still so in love with madam jin from legend of the magnate. she’s a minor character in terms of time on screen but one of the most important in terms of what she does for the ml and everyone else. she’s just a delight. honestly i would watch an entire drama about her.

Terzo…of course 😂🤣

2. Least favorite character to write for

If I have to choose it would definitely be Nihil. I can write him being a little shit so well, but I just lack the inspiration to write him in depth and at length like I do with the other Papas

X reader…I don’t write pairings per se. I do LOVE to read the Papa x Ghoul pairings that other people write though 🖤

4. Least favorite pairing

Papa shipping…not my thing

5. Favorite POV and tense

Second person POV and Present tense mostly…I love making readers feel like they are fully present in a scene

6. Something new you did this year

Started writing! I’ve been a silent fan in the Ghost fandom since 2018 and I finally lept into Fanfic in August 2025. I have had so much fun and this fandom has been so sweet and welcoming I love you all 😘🫶

7. Something other people have told you that you're good at

Fluff…Somehow I have become the one stop shop for Terzo fluff, which has spilled into other papas. I love it, and all the sickeningly sweet prompts my muts have come up with 😍

8. Something you think you're good at

Characterization…I feel like I can pick a version of a Papa for a fic and really expand on that version quite nicely. We read and enjoy everything under the sun over here 🙃🫠

9. Something you want to improve on

Scenery imagery…I love to write it but I feel like it needs improvement

10. Favorite thing you read this year

@theghostsproject Book 1 and Book 2 of “Your Friend Death”…read it all I promise it’s so good

@ghostchems Infernal…read all 10 chapters! This is a phenomenal fic and I can never ever wait for new chapters 🖤

@saintbowie This Jet Black Feeling…Vampire Terzo has me in a chokehold. This is beautifully written…read it all…you won’t be disappointed 🖤

@enchantedchocolatebars Weiner takes it all…a super cute and just overall fun fic 💕

11. Favorite event you did this year

I took a short road trip for the midnight record store release party for Skeleta and it was a RIOT! My store bought pizza for everyone, we played a ghost modded guitar hero, sang Karaoke…Ghost even gave us an exclusive Ghoulbangers video from Vanessa 🖤

12. Favorite song to listen to while you write

I cannot for the life of me, listen to music and write. It throws me off entirely! 😩

13. Favorite type of fic to write

Smut of pretty much any kind or fluff 🥰
