She chuckled softly, gently rubbing her left cheek. There's a small bruise on it, and a few bags under her eyes. She leans her head on her hand, gently poking the bruise and wincing.

"I have family visiting for a few days at home, and one of their kids threw a toy at the other while I was trying to calm them down and... It ended up hitting me. It looks worse than it feels, promise."

She smiled at Koa, nodding to her arm. "Besides, it was definitely less painful that the one I got when I tripped while we were hanging out."

For once, Sylvia had the house to herself. Her father and brothers went out to run errands, she opted to stay behind and relax. She'd sent a text to Koa to see if the girl wanted to hang out while her family was gone. Sure, they could've gone somewhere else but sometimes a lazy hangout is more fun.

That, and she knows her brothers can be... a lot sometimes. So while they were gone, she and Koa wouldn't have to worry about them butting into their conversations.

"I should've checked the weather before I texted you, but on the bright side, it'll just be us til the storm stops. Haru refuses to leave any building until he's sure the storm will be over."

She closed all the curtains, though they didn't do much to block out the lightning... She handed Koa the remote so she could turn the volume up and sat back down on the couch.

Sensory deprivation was a bitch of a thing.

Having your soul ripped out of your previous body and stuffed inside a sword left you with very little but a big black void to rage at. Occasionally, you might get the odd little sound of flicker of energy - probably somebody checking he was still bein' a good boy - but essentially, it was a prison more boring than watching paint dry.

..Whatever that meant.

But finally, the fateful day he'd been waiting for came around. Took fucking long enough, but oh, how he knew it would! After all, history has a habit of repeating itself. Mortals never really changed, making the same mistakes, time and time again.

After 200 years of silence and only the abyss as company, it was as if someone had face-thrust him into the lights. The colors! Sight, smell, sound - a heartbeat thundering in his chest! Warm blood flowing through flesh! He had a body! Ripe and bristling with potential! Young-- female? Eh, beggars couldn't be choosers - and with enough power capable of killing everyone--

The old hag was yammering on about some shitty soul bonding-- why wasn't this kid moving. He was holding their spine in his hand with a vice grip like a leash, but no matter which way he pulled and shoved, they wouldn't budge!

..No matter. It'd still work - he'd just have to do things a little slower. Coercive. String 'em along a bit, then snag 'em when they let their guard down. And hey - a little breaking a body in would make for a fun challenge! Oh, they were gonna have a lot of fun.

Honestly, I understand what you mean about being afraid of people - even though I've been on this website for a while now and by no means am not the shy 'wait and come to me' sort of person, I still have moments where I feel so shy to approach others or where I just get really self conscious and afraid - I think it's something that always sort of stays with you no matter how far out of your comfort zone you venture, so I get where you're coming from, honestly and I don't blame you for it. I just hope you know I don't bite and I think you're cool.
