Sasa Tray Collection

We have been working on designing a collection of trays for Japanese Manufacturer specializing in tin casting.  These trays are made with traditional making method - sand casting.

Sasa is inspired by the flow and reflection of an ocean surface where rolling valleys are used for serving organic matters, and holding inorganic accessories and small objects. Sasa Trays can be tiled crosswise and lengthwise to create an infinite wavy landscape with silvery reflective effect.

Sasa is casted from 100% tin metal by traditional craftsmen of Toyama Prefecture. Sasa brings dynamic force of ocean waves, warmth of the sun and fragrance of the ocean breeze into our everyday lives.

Sasaは複数のくぼみを要した多様性ある盛器。水面の漣のように常に形や用途が変化できることをイメージし、食品等の盛り付け、日ごろ使うアクセサリーや小物置きなど個々の用途に合わせて使うことができる。単体としては不規則な形状でありながらタイル状に縦横に並べることで無限の表現ができる。

富山県の鋳造職人により純度100％の錫で製造されたSasaは大海原の波、その表面に眩しい太陽が当たりキラキラと、そして潮風の香りを思い起こす。常に流動的に動くダイナミックな自然を日常の生活に用いていただきたい。
