And lastly, so many clumps of native iris! They varied from shades of lavender and lilac to these real vibrant shades of purple!
Then there also these tiny little pink flowers that were as small as a nail head.
Pretty dang cute.

Anyway, Sonic X episode 2. Pretty good episode tbh. GUN are namedropped (albeit just subbed as “the military” here which is lame) which is really cool actually! Very early work being put in to have a coherent world with consistent lore and mechanics. Actually find Chris’ granddad I forget the name of to be pretty based right off the bat - dude meets this blue alien fuck and is instantly down to fucking storm a military base with the guy, his plans being as loose as “yeah find anything that looks suspicious obviously”. Guy’s too old to give a fuck so he’s just batshit insane and it’s great. There’s a good amount of choreographed cool moments from Sonic and he gets to talk more than in episode 1 as well, something like him using the camera turrets as an actual turret or saying “shit!” - it’s fun. Also Tails gets to make a good introduction for himself, Sonic’s sidekick and the tech guy and all, does well for himself - but still shy enough to not be totally geeking out around old guy and all. His and Cream’s voices are grating though lmao. Also Sonic’s basically never on model, huh. Shame. First real hints of Chris being an obnoxious brat too

Anyway running out of things to say. Not bad episode. My MAL score for Sonic X atm is 3/10 btw but just based on episodes 1 and 2 I could see it going up. But then 76 episodes left, huh...

This is a walk that I enjoyed far more than I expected. It had been raining a lot and was forecast to keep raining so we just wanted to do something short. We'd spotted a lookout from a walk we did not too long before this and thought we'd try and get here. It's really quite a short walk but it was such an enjoyable walk. The flora was so beautiful, there were such a vast array of flowers and plants, some that I haven't even seen before. Because this area is really windy, all the flora are so squat and compact, it's really quite cute. The rain meant raindrops on leaves, hanging off branches.
From the lookout we could see a few pods of whales and a huge raincloud coming in from the sea. It was a little while until we realised that it was actually coming towards us so we got a bit rained on while we were walking back to the car. Ever watched a rain cloud coming? A pretty neat experience.
