And lastly, so many clumps of native iris! They varied from shades of lavender and lilac to these real vibrant shades of purple!
Then there also these tiny little pink flowers that were as small as a nail head.
Pretty dang cute.

Australian native iris. I always feel lucky finding one of these blossoms because the flowers only live for one day

What a fun adventure this was! We started out much later than we would have liked but I suppose it was good that we went when we did! Spotted pardalotes, a tiny tiny frog that I almost stepped on 🥲, a fckn huge grey banded huntsman 🥲🥲, a lyrebird, and so many beautiful flowers. All on the way to this overlook of the peninsula that looks very much like a dragons head don't ya think?
On the way back, we saw so many of the fat bumblebee-like native bees all hovering over the trail. A long walk, my first time to this particular lookout but the second time to that general region.

My second trip up to see the beautiful waratahs and spring rush of flowers. The irises are truly out in full force, they were abundant along the side of the road and in copses here and there. Real neat to see some double-headed ones too.
