The absolute highlight of #moogfest this year was turning around to see Martin Gore (#depechemode main man) standing in front of me. I immediately hugged him .. there was no other way to react. @reptilianjillian27 was quick but our moment of affection was quicker and she only caught this afterglow. I’m so thankful she got even that … This man has supported me for 12 years and affected the lives of my friends and influencers for even longer. He brightened one of the darkest days of my life. In June of 2012, I ran out of gas while moving Mark Serletic (aka DJ Frowntown) back from Norfolk through a tornado in Virginia, where I didn’t think they ever happened. Apparently neither did Virginia itself, so all of the gas stations were out of power. While waiting on a shoulder for hours while Mark figured out how to get my car on the road, I got a PayHole notification that Martin L Gore had just sent me two grand. I knew then that it was no longer a bad day, and I never get tired of telling this story.

27.04. Liebes Tagebuch,

L: naja, damals da war ich halt noch jung und unschuldig. [ich schaute zu ihm hoch, starrte ihn eine Weile lang an] S: weißt du, ich war auch mal unschuldig… L: und dann? S: und dann kamst du. [er sah zu mir hinüber und fing an zu grinsen] L: ja, ja ich weiß…

Wenn ich mit einem Menschen alles durch habe, dann mit dir. Und trotz allem sind wir beide noch nicht miteinander durch. Nie. Auch wenn du das hier nie lesen wirst: ich danke dir. Für all die Jahre, aber vor allem für die letzten beiden. Dafür, dass du mich immer heimbringst, dass du deinen Alk und deine Kippen mit mir teilst, dass du mich zum lachen bringst, dass du mich all die Scheiße vergessen lässt, dass du für mich da bist, wenn’s drauf ankommt, für all die verrückten Dinge, die wir beide schon gemeinsam erlebt haben. Danke, dass du noch immer bei mir bist, dass du mich nie aufgegeben hast. Danke, dass ich mit dir erwachsen werden durfte, dass ich so viel besser bin, als früher, durch dich. Danke, dass du immer hinter mir stehst, egal was für Scheiße ich baue. Danke für einfach alles.
