My Initial Battle With Weight Loss
Hello my name is Craig, I have been overweight my entire life. At the age of 12 I had reached 200 lbs. As most of us all know this led to bullying, troubles in school and troubles in my social life. Like most overweight people I resorted to humor as a way of getting peoples attention. This was both a gift and a curse. The plus side was that my plus size helped me to develop a good sense of empathy and a great personality. Making people laugh was what I was known for, which was much better than being known as the fat kid. No, I was the fat funny kid. My Jr. High years certainly had some moments that hurt, but for the most part I have fond memories of my times. The down side was that I was missing out of the connection that most people my age were making. The dating scene.
Being a popular portly man comes with it's share of benefits, I was surrounded by the "cool" group. The "prettiest" girls in school were all friends of mine. This was something that helped me to develop some form of confidence... However that confidence flies out the window during your first game of spin the bottle, truth or dare or any other game where girls make the stink face after finding out they have to kiss you.
By the end of high school I was 310 lbs. I bounced around this weight until I eventually found myself at 280 lbs. at the age of 22
