I JUST FINISHED THE 3.2 ARCHON QUEST! MANY THOUGHTS!! HEAD FULL!!!

So I have two working theories for why the abyss twin belongs to this world but the traveler twin doesn’t.

1. Abyss twin has pledged allegiance or formed some sort of pact in this world, making them then one with the world - allowing the irminsul to then record their marks on this world (though could be up for debate if that allows their past to be recorded too, assuming they made that pact after journeying for some time🤔).

2. Teyvat (or the world before it was known as teyvat), was originally the twins homeland a very very long time ago before the twins left (for whatever reason). I’m thinking eons, perhaps during the primordial one’s time? But teyvat as it is now has long since changed over and over since the twin’s absence making the present world unrecognisable to them - and the present world doesn’t recognise them.

But let’s say the abyss twin, has made the journey across the nations and at the end re-discovered the origins of this world (the fuzzy part of the irimsul records?). Perhaps the “truth of this world” or at least part of it, tells the abyss twin that this world was originally their home. Perhaps they encountered something that let them recognise/reconnect with the world and henceforth, the world recognised them again - which also allowed them to record the abyss twin’s mark in the new, present world.

So the reason the abyss twin encourages the traveler twin to journey the nations like they once had is because the traveler needs to make the same journey. Traveler hasn’t yet discovered the “truth” or reconnected with their origins so they aren’t yet recognised as belonging to the world. The twins can represent each other in different timelines, perhaps the traveler twin needs to make the journey to better understand the abyss twin …..we may yet discover more about the twins lore as we journey! 🧐

There’s so much lore drop! I feel ecstatic omg!!! I am willing to bet on Alice being a descender! Nahida suspects the “heavenly principles” as being one of the descenders (which would make them not from this world!!) but also we find out that the heavenly principles have been long quiet ever since 500 years ago….which was when Khaenri’ah‘a destruction/ the cataclysm happened as well as when the twins tried to leave the world. Was stopping the twins the last time the heavenly principles were active?

Might be because I’m feeling awful in general, but I can’t stop thinking about the Scara scene ™️

I had a kinda somber dream last night

I dreamed I was suddenly in Eorzea, kitted out like my character, so not left entirely defenseless, but I was in Eorzea as MYSELF, not my character. Rather than go adventuring, rather than go exploring or getting a chocobo, etc, I elected to seek out some NPCs I’m very fond of. I retained a great deal of information about Eorzea, who was who and where, how to get there, etc, but I had no way of knowing which VERSION of Eorzea I was in, what “patch” I had landed in. As people who have gotten even a LITTLE bit into the story, you know that as the story goes on, new NPCs show up, and old ones change, leave, or even die. (I’m specifically trying to keep this opener spoiler free, haha!) I had a select few NPCs I really wanted to get to, so I headed out to a Chocobokeep and paid the gil I had (seemed to match my in-game balance, too) and first set out for...

Camp Dragonhead. If you’ve met me in-game or seen my liveblogging of the plot, you know who my favorite NPC is. I figured I should find out if I was post-3.0 at this point. Everything was bigger in the dream, idk if it was scaled to my assumption of a real-life Eorzea or if it was scaled to my understanding of it as a Lalafell-main. Unlike in the game, people are constantly bustling around, people are actually DOING things. I luck out and don’t end up questioned to hell and back, seems like I retain the STATUS of my in-game self as well. People generally smile and wave before returning to their work. I’m too afraid to just ask anybody where he’s at. Office is locked, too afraid to ask still. I proceed to the Falling Snows, and I’m met...with the scene from the end of 3.2. Now I know there’s no point in heading to Vesper Bay. Now I know there’s no point in trying to find...several of the people I was going to look for...and it was super-somber because it was like...WOW this is GREAT I’m in the game, live out my dream of being an adventurer, etc etc...oh wait....all my friends are dead/exploded/turned into puppets/etc

IDK wanted to put it on “paper,” so to speak, just get it out of my head.
