30Layers30Days: Day 3
Three days after meeting you I tasted you.
I absorbed your presence, feasted on your energy, swallowed everything else that I thought I wanted, intrigued by the delicacy before me, and I needed more.
A glutton within, ravaged by your grin, your lips like honey and everything that wasn't sin
and it was good.
Day four, I craved you
day five, I felt you
and by day six I needed you to be my main dish
so I decided to persist, to no avail.
Turned yourself into a buffet, giving me samples of you
however none of that could satiate the hunger I wrestled with,
I wanted you.
Our constant back and forth eventually pushed me away,
though the remnants of your flavor never escaped my tastebuds
and I couldn't fathom why.
We were over too soon.
Words always getting caught in the base of our throats
never having relayed the message of the truth,
we were and still remain
silent.
Songs of half truths in our voice,
but honest symphonies in our eyes,
when are we gonna wipe this vinyl clean of its scratches and allow the music to flow freely?
Let me hear the harmonies disguised by the production.
Your acoustics always sound better anyway.
