A few wonderful bits of our Christmas brunch...I’ve eaten the same thing every Christmas morning of my life... chicken aka king with buttered toast points, scrambled eggs and bacon, fruit stewed with brandy and port and champagne. I took liberties this year and added little cinnamon rolls with homemade caramel with brown butter and Sage, phyllo cups with caramelized onions and feta and the special surprise of the season...hand colored and shaped marzipan...one of the oldest Christmas traditions from my mothers side of the family. When my aunt Pat passed her daughter, my cousin Susan picked up the torch. This year she made it again for the first time in a dozen years and sent me some. I cried when I saw it... literally one of my oldest memories and she’s promising to pass the recipe down to my daughter in love. It’s all gone because it’s irresistible, but the joy is still there💖#christmas #christmasbreakfast #marzipan #countdowntochristmas #30daysofchristmascheer #gratitude #happy #blessed (at The Herban Inn) https://www.instagram.com/p/CJRospjpisi/?igshid=5na5ml6akkyf
