September, where have you gone?! I can't believe it's the last week of ovarian cancer awareness month! . One of the biggest things to remember when it comes to any of the gynecological cancers, is that you have to be brave and talk to your doctor about anything that seems out of the norm for your body. Survival rates for gynecological cancers are high if the disease is caught in early stages. But too often, women are too embarrassed by their own bodies to speak honestly about what's going on. This lack of communication leads to late stage diagnoses (Stages 3, 4, & 5). Survival rates for these cancers, especially ovarian cancer, drop significantly when the diagnosis is at a later stage in the cancer's development. . Be brave. Be bold. Be open and honest. Be your own best advocate. (Which is also good advice for middle schoolers facing bullies like Jenson in the fabulous graphic novel featured in this post. ☺️) . #brave #svetlanachmakova #mglit #graphicnovel #ovariancancerawareness #30daysofteal #knowovarian #gynecologicalcancer #fantasticbeasts #newtscamander #newtssuitcase #happyhelloart #bubbleandgeek
