A note on Slyveon and why they look off: Faes in legends are described as otherworldly, and more often than not, you can sense there’s something wrong. I wanted to give them this sense of unease and I found the easiest way was through their eyes: the “iris” is bigger than normal.

A note on Sableye: It looks like an absolute gremlin lmao

Pelagos, Bibelot, and Islacura? :D -kazarill-fr

Pelagos! with his deep blue colors, I went to looking for ocean-related names! I ended up finding pélagos, which is ancient greek for sea! and shows up in words like archipelago!

OMG..the truth comes out. Bibelot! Ok so she was from my first ever nest, with my progens Tarragon and Moraine! When she hatched, her white fur with a purple mane immediately made me think of Rarity from MLP: FiM, whom Bibelot’s personality is definitely inspired by haha. I just looked up synonyms of rarity and bibelot was one that popped up and I thought worked nicely and wasn’t a very obvious mlp reference

And ooh Islacura! She’s an original character that predates my Flight Rising account! In 2015, I decided I needed more dragons in my life. I had plenty of dragon Pokemon OCs, but didn’t have very many original dragon characters, so I decided to make a handful, and the first one of my 2015 dragon OCs was Islacura!

My goal was to make a unique name that felt fitting for a dragon and wasn’t overtly human. She has healing magic, so I thought of the spanish word ‘la cura’ which is an obvious cognate for ‘the cure’. I probably could have dug deeper asdfsda but I liked the sound of it, and then I stuck the “Is” in front because..she is the cure :D

i considered Eslacura too but that would have literally been just a full sentence in spanish adsf so i figured the Is was enough to make it distinct, but I failed to notice the resemblance to ‘isla cura’ (’cure island’ or also ‘priest island’ in spanish) until too late dasfdsa I probably would change her name if I could go back in time but I’m stubborn so her name will always be Islacura haha. I sometimes joke that in the Spanish dub her name would be Esthecure. which tbh i kind of like? she could go by Esther c: but yeah Islacura has been set in stone for too long now that I probably won’t ever change it!

1. what is your favorite color to work with?

orange! it's my favorite color in general, but you can do SO much with it. always feels like you can use any color to shade it with, and it'll still always turn out well. it's so versatile and i love it so much

10. are you right or left handed?

right handed! severely right handed, my god. but yeah right handed = sooo many dragons facing left lmao

11. warm or cool colors?
