Signatory Vintage Whisky Cask Strength Collection – Glenrothes 30 y.o. When an independent bottler such as Signatory Vintage allows a cask from the Speyside distillery Glenrothes to mature for a full 30 years and then releases it as part of its renowned Cask Strength Collection (often in the exclusive sub-range Symington’s Choice), we are talking about an absolute premium whisky.

A prime example is the current bottling from 1995. Typically, the natural cask strength after 30 years is still a robust 51% to 55% ABV. This ensures an exceptionally intense mouthfeel.

A whisky of this calibre needs time in the glass. After pouring, allow it to breathe for a few minutes.

Ok, I Sonic Youth non sono esattamente il mio ascolto quotidiano*, però il fatto che ho comprato casualmente questo disco un mese fa e ancora più casualmente ho deciso proprio oggi di metterlo in macchina, ignaro che proprio oggi cadesse il 30ennale, è una coincidenza che merita di essere condivisa. 

Altri punti collaterali degni di nota:

- il disco e la canzone sono effettivamente quello che sono

- ho vinto un tortino al cioccolato con un gratta e vinci in omaggio

- la tempesta di lampi e tuoni olandese infuria ma io sto ancora cercando un modo per non sciogliermi dal caldo

*in realtà i dischi li tengo almeno un mese senza cambiarli, quindi da ora è il mio ascolto quotidiano, anche alle 8 di mattina

Thank you all for the birthday wishes! I just wanted to bring a little awareness on something I've struggled with my whole life. A few months ago I was really going through a rough bout of depression and realizing that I was turning 30 soon and no where near where I'd thought I'd be in life at this time. This is why support systems are so important, to have family and friends who are always willing to talk and understand me even when I'm being my most difficult self. I am proud to say I saw being 30 in a whole new way today. I was encouraged by it, like I've graduated to a whole new chapter of my life bringing me closer to my goals. So if you're going through a difficult time and are thinking of skipping to the end of your book, please stop for a minute and think. Contact someone, anyone including myself, and just talk/be encouraged by others. The ending of a book is anticlimactic without the trials and struggles that have gone before.
