Encounters with Consequences - educated edition VII
It was a bit of a surprise, really. The smell really made my mouth water. And I actually wanted to eat it. Huh.
Transformation-time was a time of new experiences. Apparently.
Come to think of it… I had never eaten when I was transformed. Too distracted by… other things. The dissertation hadn’t said anything about food-sensitivity, but hey, everyone was different.
When I finally – after another sniff – took a mouthful, my eyebrows shot up: “Mh!”
I was honestly surprised how good this was.
I made sure to properly clean the spoon with my tongue.
There were spicier parts sometimes, it was a nice, prickly feeling on my tongue.
It was also delightfully rich in flavour. All kinds pleasantly mixed together.
I ended up turning the spoon and slowly pulling in out of my mouth, making sure I properly cleaned it.
When I opened them again, Henoch was looking at me, with surprise in his eyes. He stared.
This did not change for the next twenty seconds, so I tilted my head and smiled: “It’s really delicious, how is yours?”
He actually blushed slightly when he awakened from his staring and said: “I’m sure it’s great. I… didn’t try. Yet,” which was a little different from usual, admittedly. His plate was first to get plundered at any point in time. And he visibly enjoyed his food, then.
Was there reason to worry?
Apparently not all that much. He did start to eat. In a somewhat shovelling way.
And I, for once, ate slower than him. Closing me eyes to enjoy the texture and flavour. Mixing a bit with the spices Gabrielle sent with the portions, too. It was quite an experience.
I took my time… slowly savouring the food. Just a little bit of water to flush it down. Didn’t want any additional tastes.
When I looked up again, he still looked at me. Eating, but still looking at me. Slightly blushing.
I looked him in the eye the next time I licked the spoon. He concentrated on the spoon.
