I don't know if I'm happy about this one or not. This is the beautiful Minas Tirith model by @clavenmoo printed in @re_pet_3d rPLA Snow White in 0.16mm layers and 15% infill on the @artillery3dofficial Sidewinder X1. From a distance the model looks great but I had some massive layer shifts near the top. Using a Volcano style hotend on this printer doesn't really make sense in my opinion because the print surface sits on springs which will have far to many fibrations when printing at higher speeds. The nozzle will touch the print at some point and layer shifts will happen. Using Z-Hop can reduce this but on a large wobbly bed like this I'm sure lowering the speed makes more sense. I think I've solved why my #3dprinter won't #3dprint! I made this custom fan vent that funneled air directly to the nozzle. Apparently, it has gotten warm enough to melt and slightly bend. It now bends to the point that it's lower than the nozzle. I couldn't figure out why the filament wouldn't stick to the bed. An hour and a half later...I've finally got my hot end cleaned up and reinstalled. Lesson learned, even though I can monitor remotely and get home quick, it may not always be quick enough. Goopy PLA every where on top, around, on the bottom of the heat block...this is most of what was removed (SD card for comparison). #3dprinted #3dprinter #3dprint #3dprintproblems
