About: Title Fight is one of the most well known emo bands, and for good reason. The band formed at only age 13 in 2003, initially leaning into emocore and melodic hardcore, but eventually shifted further into shoegaze. Their sound ended up blending into what is commonly referred to as emogaze, one of the first bands to do this. They have been inactive since 2018, but still post on social media occasionally and in 2023 stated a possibility of returning in the future.

this is kind of a "well no shit sherlock" thing to say, but my favorite part of the emo subculture is the emotional part in the emotional hardcore. for example, and i know MCR isn't genre-wise emo, but their music is NOTORIOUS for saving so many emo kids lives. there's just something so beautiful about music being a mental health outlet for kids who have trouble expressing it. emo is so heavily stereotyped and made fun of (specifically 3rd wave) which, yeah we look back, we cringe, we laugh, but it also saved our lives. i think that's what makes that era so special. it taught kids during its prime that expressing hard emotions is ok, and it continues to do so through the recent emo revival we're seeing with 3rd wave emo bands making a comeback such as pierce the veil. it saved millennials & genz, so when i see someone who is gen alpha listening to these bands, i see myself in them, and it makes me happy that they're growing up with emo music as an outlet too. honestly this is probably just me being sappy and nostalgic but i've been thinking about it for quite some time and wanted to talk about it lol
Kys if u listen to 3rd wave emo
