Standing with a cup of tea in hand, Rebecca gave herself a moment to enjoy watching the team perform… some sort of dance number, the likes of which didn’t appear to have anything to do with football or sports conditioning but did seem outrageously fun given how much cheering and shouting it inspired.
Before she’d taken ownership of the club, she’d never appreciated how the energy from the training grounds spilled through the windows; her eyes had only ever been for Rupert.
Those hard lessons learned, she decided her meetings for the afternoon could wait until after she’d paid her team the attention they’d always deserved.
